Is Making Money Online Easy?

I have proven to myself that it is easy to make money on the internet. I find most people want to make money now, right now and they don't want to build something to make more money without all the daily routine of PTC sites. I tried the PTC sites a few years ago and got more depressed than anything. The amount of effort I put in didn't match the money I was making. After a few months of that I had had enough. Then I decided to create a blog around one of my interests. I didn't know anything much about the niche or market I entered but I knew I could get free articles for it so I started the site without any of my own content. I put free articles on the blog and after about 3 months. After my new blog was indexed in the major search engines I signed up at a site for text link ads and started to earn a little each month. In just a few months I was up to over $100 U.S. a month from just that one blog that didn't even have my own content on it. I still add content to that site, free content, and I am still earning from previous posts. Once I saw that work I started doing the same thing in other niches. Some of them worked and some didn't but I didn't give up and I didn't put any more time into them than I was putting in to make pennies on PTC sites. How do you make money online? Share what methods works for you.

As I was reading your post, I could not help but envy you. I wish I could have done the same things. Could you please tell us more about how you did it? I do have a blog but somehow managed to earn a little. How did you get your blog indexed? Thanks for the inspiring story and I hope that you would get us to share some more information.

Getting your blog indexed in pretty easy. Write a couple of short articles that compliment the content on the page you want indexed. Use similar keywords to the ones you have on the page you want indexed. That's most important. Once you have a good article written, no less than 300 words, publish it on EzineARticles.com They get indexed many times a day. When the search engines see your article they will follow the link in your article to your web site page. They may not index it immediately so you need to write more than one article. Don't publish your articles together. Wait until your first article is accepted before you publish the next one. If you decide to publish your articles on other article directories be sure to publish on EzineARticles first and then change a few things in your article to make it unique for the other directories. If you write an article a week for a while and do this you will be so surprised.

You said that you didn't have your own content in your blog. Pardon my ignorance but I'm quite confused. So, you put other people's articles in your blog? How's that? Is it legal to do that. I hope you can clear me on this because I'm also interested. I've been looking for ways to earn money online. I hope you can help me here.

Yes Aprilten it's perfectly legal. You can go to article directories and take the content from there as long as you keep the author's details with the article. You can also get private label rights articles. I like PLR articles because I can modify them to say what I want. You can't do that with content you get from article directories. You have to use them as is. So I looked for 'private label rights' along with a travel related keyword phrase and then I add them to my travel blog.

You mentioned 'private label rights'. Does it cost anything to use those articles?

Hi aprilten. It also got me interested. I also have the same question like yours. If she was putting other people's articles on her blog. If that is just fine then, I might as well do the same. I do a lot of times lose ideas to write on my blog. Hope we get answers soon.

I have been doing a lot of writing off and on, at different places. However, i was recently reading about something similar to what you are doing. So, would you explain further, and give me more of an idea, of exactly what you do, and how you are doing it?

I agree with you. I think it's fairly easy to make money online. With the right niche topics, the right resources and some affiliate sites, things can be done. I believe in online money making and it can be easy if done consistently. Good topic here..

I agree.. it's best to read* smart and research well. Sometimes, there are others whom want to reach in that direction but they don't know how. It can be easy and can be hard too.

Making money online is easy but takes a lot of time to start with and it's slow in the beginning.

oh, really, I envy you so much. I'm a new arrival in this aspect, and I'm from China. There is little websites of the same kidney in China having enough credibility to let make money online. So I have to transfer my attention to the foreigner ones, but I felt it's difficult to start, however, if you could recommend me some websites, such as your blog website which I could raise money just on posting my articles there, I will appreciate you very much!

If you write well you should join sites like Helium where you can earn for writing. I don't bother with them because my writing skills aren't the best. I didn't go very far in school and quit back in 1969. That's a way to make money from writing but I prefer to have my own web site and put my writing there so I attract traffic from the search engines. It takes a little while to get them earning but after about 3 months I am either earning a bit or I drop the site and move on. I acutally used the money I earned from Mylot to buy domains and pay for hosting my web sites. Now that i have them going I hardly get over here to Mylot, just too busy most days. And the other days I am out fishing. :)

Congratulations on getting to be successful on the Internet. Yes, blgging is an excellent way to go, but it takes time and will not happen overnight as some people believe. Sometimes I wonder why people sign up for programs and then don''t work at them. Perhaps they think that money will flow to them automatically without them doing anything. But your experience has proved that this is not the case. That we have to do something.. - Derek

You hit it right on Derek. I think too many people expect success over night and give up. The really sad part is that if they would have just continued they would have a success story of their own but they quit too soon and moved on to something else. Great point.

Glad you're motivated for success. I don't care to try new methods of making money until I see it's been in use for a bit and not buggy. I tend to stick with what has been working for years. Keep working hard.

Hi Webmann, Thanks for a lively discussion. I enjoy writing and I have been very successful in this area. I have for approximately four years contributed articles to one of our local newspapers and became a corresponded for a area. Recently all except three correspondents have been laid off due to the recession period. My joining My Lot is one way of participating in healthy discourses and I am interested in blogging. The exchange that you and other my lotters have done is great. Thanks for sharing and I will try with more earnestness to seek to find a place to blog. I have tried but I must confess that I do not not have the all the skills but your leads hopefully will help because I need the money. My two sons are at university and I need some funds to help them along. Webmann, would you believe that I have read all of the discussion on this! I hope to get a break through and I will inform you all. I have hobbies and I have experiences so I have information to share so if you think that I need some help do not be afraid to share. Personally, I have been seeking thishelp and it seems as if you are an angell in this area.

If you were making money from your local newspaper you might want to keep writing but do it online for sites like Helium and other sites that pay for content. When you do start a blog be sure that for every article your write for your blog write one for EzineArticles and other article directories that point back to the page you wrote the article on your site. Doing this will get you more traffic and if you match the keywords from the page you are linking to it will also help to get you backlinks and increase your site's pagerank.

@ Carrie If you keep your content really focused on your keywords the search engines will index your pages. If you aren't getting any visits from search engines yet you need to write a couple of articles that match your content and publish them on article directories. The search engine indexed those directories many times a day. Once they get to your article the search engine will follow it to your site, so be sure you link to an exact page on your site where you use those keywords. Keep adding content to your blog and if you really want to make it go faster write more article for article directories and point to your internal pages. Just that simple, but it takes a bit of work. I am at the point now where I hire people to write articles I want to publish on article directories. So for about 5 or 6 dollars an article I have unique content for the article directories which allows me to concentrate on my blog content.

Hi WebMann, I think this topic has been so successful that you should consider starting an online tutoring programme for all of us envious web users who aren't making money online! I am 24 and unemployed but still believe there is money to be made online without posting 10,000 comments on mylot etc. I have added you as a friend as many others have in the hope that you can guide me when I am setting up my blog etc. But a question...do you run any forums?? Worth a shot at making money on them?? Just an idea and I don't think you mentioned them. Thanks:)

I thought of starting a forum a few times but I think it would be a lot of work and I am stretched about as far as I can stretch. I belong to a couple of forums right now that don't get much traffic and I am sure the owners get stressed over it. I don't need any more stress in my life. :) I am going to drop some of my blogs. The ones that haven't worked out for me and that should free up a bit of time but then I would just use the extra time to make the rest of my sites produce more. If I were starting all over I would stick with just a couple of sites and work them a lot harder than I do now.

There are various approaches to earn money online, the most easy way may selling things in Ebey~ Blog ,hmm, it's a little difficult for me ,because in our country most blogs are free. Everyone can read it and the authors are not care about it either.

I remember when I first started with eBay. I went through all the boxes we never unpacked from our previous move and sold all the stuff we no longer used or wanted. It was great fun. I was a bit nervous about it at the start but that soon faded when money started showing up. I don't do much with eBay now, mostly just buy things. I guess I am too busy with my blogs to start selling on eBay again. The key for success with blogging, quicker success, is to be unique and knowledgeable.

I get what your saying but I really have no idea want to blog about, if I could blog about everyday life that would be fine, but mine is boring..lol The only good money I have made is from poetry contests. I can't set up my own sites or really blog about anything. I did sign up for that Hub page site, but cant come up with any ideas.

I get times when I draw a blank for ideas but that is when I either sit down infront of the tube with a pen and paper and just start watching programs I like. Any ideas that pop into my head I have to write down immediately or they pop out of my head just as fast. I also take long walks through town and take pictures of things that interest me. Later I just use the images and write down what I was thinking about when I took the picture. I also go through magazines and books to see what jumps out at me. The worst thing to do, in my opinion, is to sit in front of the computer waiting for an idea to arrive.

People tend to want to get rich online instead of just making a living. My goal is not to make millions or even thousands a month. I don't need money like that. I just want to make a living so my goal is to make a couple of thousand a month and that's not that hard. It does take work but when you get one web site earning a little you can always get it to earn a little more. A 1 or 2 percent increase on your site each month adds up at the end of the year. Don't think about the big money, just think about making a profit each month and then do just a little better this month and next month and so on. It works for me.
