Hello, For me, I don't. I love to help people around and I always donate some food once a month to one of my customer, he take those food to feed Homeless people. So, one day I asked him if he takes food in can? cuz mostly I donated a day old Donuts. and he said yes, so I collected a lot for him and in there include a half bag of rice(25lbs)... he said, he can't take the rice. I asked why? he said it is already opened... I said, I open to give some to my sister and the rest is for u... it is nothing wrong with it and I just got it from the store last week. he said, I know but we dont accept opened bad food. so, I have to keep the rest for my own... lolz... well, I dont know why they refused but it is alright... do you really have a rule about this?

well to my expirence back in my hometown there are no rules on what one would like to give, to us we just have to make sure that all donations are logged in properly in our log book and we will in anyway split all donated items accordingly. we even repack them if its necessary. i have never come across such fussy receiver, but maybe they have teir own reason why. i just hope all the things he take really ends up to those needy people and not somewhere else.

I think it is a regulation here too. It may have something to do with health rules. They don’t always deliver the goods immediately and sometimes it has to be stored so I presume they can’t take risks of the goods being contaminated or stale. It is a good thing that you are doing...

I know that there are some places here that request that foods be non perishable and sealed in new packaging. I think it has something to do with contaminates and health risks.
