Do you read before sign up?

Do you ever read the full sign up agreement carefully and tick on the option to agree and sign up? Most of the time I become so excited to join a new website that I forget to read the full agreement matter. It happened to me so many times that I have read it after joining and being unknown about what are the matters written on it. Is it the same for you? Or you read the whole matter very carefully before signing up a website?

I read before I sign up but not the entire document. I scan only the important things, specially the part if international members are accepted, how do I get paid and of course the rules governing the entire process.

I joined a survey site and was really excited so I exerted so much effort to reach the payout quickly only to find out that they do not pay members outside the US. All my effort was deemed voluntary and in the end they thanked me for being so generous and stupid

Its really sad that you have not been paid for all your efforts. Normally I do not go through agreement carefully but always I read FAQ to have a glance of what the site is mainly for.

That's a very good idea indeed to scan the whole matter quickly. I do it very rarely. But all the main questions I get from the FAQ which are very interesting to read. Would you want to share anything which happened due to not reading the full agreement carefully?

I just sign up free programs, i.e I have nothing to lose, so I don't read very carefully the terms of use. I just have a glance to know the delay and the method of payment, as well as the fidelity of the site.

Right.. Some of them have similar rules and regulations. But you never know which sites have different rules if you are joining a bunch of sites a day. Anyways, I can say I am optimistic rather and think that everything will be alright for me and assuming that I just tick the box and get agreed. After joining I read the Frequently asked questions to have an idea about all of these.

I have no habbit of reading the rules before sign up. Yes, as you have said above, I become so excited to join a new site that I forget to read the rules and agreements there. According to what I know, most people have no habits of reading the the full agreement matter before joining a website. Of course, sometimes, it is really useless to spend much time on the rules for all of them are similar. But if you are just joining a complex website that you not familiar with, you'd better read them carefully without any slack. Sometimes, there are so many scams that you should really pay more attention to the agreement matter. Good luck!

Just going through the agreement is so time consuming.. Yes, if its a complex site, the agreement should be read carefully, I know its really a bad habit not to go through them before.

Of course its a good habit to read the TOS, privacy policy and FAQ of the site before joining to any of the website. Because it will give us a guideline to be a member in their site for long time. Consider a newbie join in their site without reading their FAQ and ask question by sending support ticket for which his question is already in FAQ. Like that, someone may do illegal actvities like create more than one account to the same site, where the TOS perfectly states one account per household. For all this as taken in account, i always read the agreement before sign up to any site. Expect you too do it in near future.

Normally the sites which are of similar type have common types of terms of conditions. Sometimes I go through the headlines and not the whole matter. I like to go through the FAQ rather than the agreement. The FAQ are really very well defined and the common questions are answered there. Normally I get almost every answer like which countries are allowed, one account per household etc.. Anyways you have a very good habit to go through carefully to the whole agreement before joining. Haven't you ever joined any site without reading all?

Well, when it's about money I use to read it in most of the cases. I admit I don't do it very carefully and I should have learned the lessons of the past. But, I still feel the thrill from the school years to pass some lessons from time to time. So... don't worry, you are not alone. It's a human thing, we are not perfect. And if it happens to you very often then you must not be very focused on that website. So you simply don't care. And I guess, if you watch your inner side , you don't get really really angry with yourself when you realize you did a mistake by ignoring the stupid Terms&Condition. Which, btw, is not at all accidentally written in that stupid and unattractive manner.

In day to day life I am too serious about the terms and conditions wherever I join anywhere. I read the terms and conditions a dozen times before making a bank account or anything like that. But it does not get my full interest when it is a website. That's strange. My sixth sense always says that there is no need to read it, carry on...
