how often do you have to polish upstairs,i find that i can polish the bedrooms and 30 mins later there's a thin layer of dust again, why is this,i've got carpets upstairs so the dust should stick to them before the surfaces, even if i've been out all day the dust still appears, really i need to polish the rooms every day,but coz i hate housework i only do it once a week

Well i tend to polish rarely as it seems no sooner have i finished the polishing it needs to be done right away again.I would love to know where all the dust comes from. Now i tend to use a damp cloth and that seems to work better for some reason.I like to write my name in the dust at a friends house in her living room, she never says anything.

maybe she hasn't noticed,if she hasn't noticed that her house needs polishing, why would she notice you've written in her dust, you could do that in my bedrooms but never downstairs,i could never let that amount of dust accumalate where others can see it

Dust will always accumulate on desk tops and hard surfaces first. Try using an oil based furniture polish, instead of just dusting. If you have no furniture polish, try using a small rag with just a little vegetable oil on it. Your furniture will shine, and the dust is gone.
