My son just turned 16 and I took him back home (Ontario Canada) to get his first tattoo...he has been pumped about it for a few yrs now LOL... Take some sound advice NEVER EVER EVER get a lovers name tattooed on your body...I personally wouldnt even get my hubbys name tattooed on me but thats just me...I have a few friends who go bf's or gfs names tattooed on them only to break up later on...Ink is for life and IMO names other than those of your kids or maybe parents etc, are a bad idea..

Is really having a tattoo that awesome? For me, its just a matter of time before we realize that getting a tattoo is an act of too much pride for oneself. By way of tattoo you want to be recognized and be told that, you have a nice tattoo there. How about when the time comes that you realize that your tattoo is getting boring and not in the trend thing, the best way you would do is find a way to erase? and another problems occurs in your mind, what if it scars when i attempt to erase it? what if I change the design? This has got to stop.LOL. Try to think why not use fake or temporary tattoo, its better than the permanent one, because when the time comes that you don't want it anymore then remove it. Somehow you managed to avoid further problems. Trust me, its worth it. I once had the urge to get a tattoo but lucky for me I had no money to get one at that time. LOL. So I was saved and never got a tattoo up to now. But for those who really like to have one, make sure you get the best tattoo ever so no regrets when time comes. LOL

How about when the time comes that you realize that your tattoo is getting boring and not in the trend thing If i got tattoos for the reasons you suggest then I would agree with you..but thats not the case..I could care less if anyone sees them let alone likes them..I didnt (I only have two so far) do it for them I did and will do it only FOR ME..My planned tattoos (designed by me) ALL have personal meaning and are very specially to me and once I am able to afford to get them all I'll basically be 50% covered in them...the importance of a tat and the fact that its a permanent thing are things that I've discussed with my kids since the first time they asked if they could get one which was about 8 yrs ago when they werent even teens yet..right up to the week before I took my son we talked in depth about it...

How about when the time comes that you realize that your tattoo is getting boring and not in the trend thing that time will never come....Hell I'll probably be in my 60s and still wanting tattoos...I could understand your concern or whatever if I was young but I'm almost 40 yrs old..my husband is in his 40s and he wants another tat..Its not like I'm a teen or in my 20s etc...I've been a huge lover of body art for well over 25 yrs actually....

I actually just got my first tattoo two days ago, and I'm 28!! I never thought I would want one so it was a serious decision for me! I got my boyfriends name on my upper back right in the midle. I absolutely LOVE it! And I know people say it is bad to get a lovers name on your body but I really LOVE it! Maybe I'll regret it later on if something happens to us...but I truely love him and hope to be with him forever~~that being said...I think its a personal decision getting a tattoo so you need to think about it! Think of something you want on your body foorever lol

Hello, well let me say that it is very exciting to get your first tattoo. Well as for tattoo designs well you should not get anyone's name tattooed unless it is your own or your children's name. Due to the fact say that you get your lovers name tattooed and then you split that would not be right. Well as for where to get it done, I recommend you to get it on your calf first due to the fact that this is your first tattoo. The calf does not hurt so there for you will get the experience you need to get for the next tattoo. I would say the only way you should get your lovers name tattooed is if you know that you 2 will be together for ever. As for design well I can't help you there but I could give a great idea on how to choose a design. Pick out say 3 tattoo designs that you want and hang them up on your wall and say every time you go in there and say there is one that you decide that you do not want then take it down. By the time your birthday comes around then the one pic that you have left is the one that you should get. I will say that I got my first tattoo when I was 20 and I got it on my calf so that I could get the experience of getting one and it is of a big heart with roses and 2 ribbons with my first 2 children's names in it because I do not get to see them anymore. So either way you want the tattoo to be something that you will not regret getting. I hope that this helped you out. Happy Mylotting

If you are going to get a tattoo then you really need to do some serious thinking beforehand! Is this what you really want to do? I don't see a problem with it but you've got that tattoo for life and you cannot have any regrets afterwards. I have one tattoo on my left forearm and I thought very carefully before having it done. I made the decision to have it done and as I was and still am into the horror thing I asked the chap to design some kind of skull for me that looked quite frightening! Anyway, he came up with this nice skull and it's quite small and it looks ok. I have no regrets about having this done but I have decided that I won't be getting any more tattoos. I went to some small place in Soho, London. The chap that carried out the work was covered in tattoos, he was quite intimidating to look at! Anyway, whatever you decide to do, good luck and make sure that's it's something you really want to experience. Andrew
