another storm which is forecasted to become a strong typhoon, lupit or ramil, is on its way to luzon, forecasted to take the same track that typhoon pepeng had followed. this, after we are not yet fully recovered from the devastation of pepeng and ondoy. i know that we are perennially prone to typhoons and now, supertyphoons, but this is too much for the philippines and the people affected as wen have these typhoons soon after the other. i hope ramil will go more upward just like typhoon quedan. what we have to do is to prepare for the worst and pray that this another calamity will not be as devastating as its predecessors.

I do hope and pray that Ramil would spare us from its wrath. It is pretty hard for us to recover from the last two and adding another one would add another set of problems that we already have. But I remember that there were this same incident back during those years in our province was hit by two consecutive typhoons. It hit us bad back then that took almost a couple of months before everything was restored back to normal again. Hitting the third typhoon would surely be very bad for those that are still suffering from the flooding in the north as it seems the typhoons path are heading to that direction.

It will definitely worsen, for the longest time we have turned a blind eye on the abuses against nature. We have been taught in school to avoid polluting our environment, to plant more trees ets. etc. Our problem is, we only react when a calamity directly affects us. Sure, we sympathize with the victims, but the question is What are going to do about it? Sympathy is just not enough, we have to act. Another problem I see is people tend to look for somebody to blame. they go to the media to denounce this and that, there are even senate inquiries... but the victims are still in the evacuation centers, waiting helplessly, some even die of waiting for that help to come. We need to stop making excuses, we need to act. Ondoy and Pepeng maybe the worst that some of us ever experienced but they not the last, they're the beginning. God will not help us if we will not help ourselves.

It's really sad that this is happening in our country. I'm here in the south, but feels for my fellow countrymen whose in Luzon. I have my brother, sister and relatives there and I worry, too. We cannot control nature, so the best we could do is to pray for their safety and also for these calamities to over soon, so that those affected could start or move on anew with their lives. Not only those in Luzon should prepare, but all of us, in Visayas and Mindanao should prepare for these things because we really dont know what will come or happen.

saluyot, this is really sad and bad for our people. are we even praying for it to stop? i hope people will start praying now because of this trouble with the typhoons. it's bothering why this much storms in a month or two, it's gotta the climate and the fact that the dam releasing water facilities are following an old protocol that has nothing to do with the present situation...or better yet, worse.
