Does hotdog really affect people's train of thought?

Everytime we have a thesis defense, my classmates always suggest that the food be given to the panel should be hotdog, because it has lots of sodium. The hotdog would make them go blank or think slow haha. I'm not sure if its true? Is it?

I just know that hot dogs contain more sodium . But a panel becomes dumb eating, its not true. Because sodium is a common element in salt and we use salt in every food we eat and it causes no harm to brain.

I haven't heard about this until now. I've known though that too much sodium is bad for one's health. Since too much of salt can destroy one's kidney. I don;t know how it has a connection with slowing down the thought process :)
