guilty untill proven innocent?!

Why is it that it seems people are guilty until proven innocent in the UK? i always thought it was supposed to be the other way round! but due to my own experience and of others i know i realise it is lies! I think that the law should be reviewed and also checked upon once in a while what do people think?

It's a losing battle and I guess it is a losing battle because there are a lot of people who think like me. It's not a very bad practice these days though. You really ought to be on the harsh side and be a bit apprehensive of people first.
