Can somebody please explain to me why people preach religion???!!!!

Just to be straight with everyone i do not believe in any god,or supreme being i just get on with my life. About a month ago i had a teacher tell my son that he didnt have to do anything in life and that if he prayed to god verything would be ok in his future....????......erm is this person stupid!!!! I was furious and had to sit my four year old down and explain that the only way to have a future is by working hard and caring for your family like mummy and daddy!!! I also live in a street where there are a lot of muslim kids...guess what the muslim kids arnt allowed to play with my son because he is not ''muslim''!!! I am infuriated by the way people think they can push and shove their religion onto innocent 4 year old son who they know hasnt got a clue about anything yet and they are manipulating him!!! I have therfore asked his school that he is pulled out of all religious studys apart from the boarderline basics that teach them history more that religion! What do you think about this?? are you like me and want to get on with your non believing life with out fanatics excluding you our of your own area or without people preaching to your kids??? Or are you a relgious person?? if you are do you agree with what i just told you or are you disgusted??? Please help me understand what i see as a warped fantasy world???
