Is nail polish hazardous ?

I often doubt it that nail polish is hazardous but I'm not sure. Do you happen to know the truth? and if it is, is there any way to minimize it except abandoning it? you see? I seldom have my nails naked in their original colors.

it depends upon the company which you are using.Suppose you are using a low cost nail polish then the chemicals used in the nail polish must be hazardious to the nails and may remove the shine of your nail.
but a costly nail polish of famous companies are made especially taking in account the safety of the nails.
I use YSL, AVON. all cosmetics made by famed company. still I doubt it is harmful
