I try to make a living with writing articles, I think I have mentioned that in one of my posts.. Anyway, I purchased these PLR articles, and I need to rewrite them.. Is there any tool that I can use to help me rewrite these articles? I don't mean those software that automatically rewrites the article for you, believe me you would never want to try one of those.. Outputs are very poor and grammatically incorrect.. T_T Maybe you can suggest something instead?

Hi Amaine, there are tools available, and I have tried a few. However, I find that they are very slow, too slow for rewriting purpose. These are manual article spinners, and they will give you a choice of several words to replace the word in the original statement. I think using the Thesaurus in MS Word is much better. You just highlight a couple of words and use that function to find better words. Some PLR articles are too badly written that major rewritting is needed. Sometimes I find that I spend so much time rewriting the articles that I might as well start from scratch. I must admit that using PLR articles is a time saver, many ideas are very good, and I can cut down on research. Good luck in your rewriting.

You got my point! :D I have many PLR articles here, that I even bought. Oh God, you gotta see the grammar and the composition of those! Should have never bought them LOL, but yeah.. It's a time saver, I agree.. And article spinners? Na ah! Haha I tried one of those and I cannot even think that the finished article is in English

Hi Amaine, I download a few hundred PLR articles free of charge, and many are very badly written. After the rewriting, the articles are completely different. Because I rewrite the ideas, not the words, so the articles have my style of writing, and not those styles that are suspiciously Indian.

HEHE scheng! Isn't that just writing an article if all you do is take the title? You work too much. LOL

I used to rewrite articles on Amazon Turk. All you really need is a Thesaurus in my opinion. That's all I used. I also occasionally glanced at the dictionary for words I was unsure of. When rewriting articles, I did one paragraph at a time. I would read each paragraph, think about how I would write it in my own words, and start writing. It's pretty simple and easy. It also helps if you know a bit about the topic you're writing about. Best of luck to you!

Hi Chrisanimelo, actually the best examples of rewriting articles come from the newspapers. Most newspapers do not have enough staff to post overseas, so they subscribe to Assoicated Press and the reporters just rewrite the news from Associated Press. I find that many of the finance news in the local newspaper comes from Reuters. The problem is that they change the title and practically everything, except the core idea. I must say that they do a good job in rewriting, since I have difficulty in locating the original news in Reuters. While using the Thesaurus is the easiest way to rewrite article, I think that the rewritten article lacks the style of the rewriter. Sometimes those PLR articles are so badly written that it is much better to borrow the idea and write a new article based on it.

haha Chrisanimelo, those newspaper reporters are master rewriters. They can combine two original articles in Reuters and rewrite into an original article. Most of the times they rewrite from Associated Press. Those articles appearing in China's newspapers are more challenging, they need translation and rewriting to make it less fiery or nationalistics. I think only the home news are original news articles. All the others are from elsewhere, China news from Xinhua, most from Associated Press. That's why it's nothing wrong to rewrite articles, since copyrights protect the words of the articles, and not the content, otherwise all the newspaper editors and reporters will go to jail.

Hmm.. I didn't realize newspapers rewrote articles. I find that interesting. Well, thanks for the reply. I agree that sometimes the articles are very poorly written and writing a fresh article would be the only way to make the article understandable.

If you are writing for a living I don't understand why you don't take the article titles and just write a fresh new article? I'm not being mean, I am just a little confused. Even if you did rewrite what someone wrote if you are a writer surely, you must have done that before, even if in school.

If sometimes, you would run out of ideas and your brain just won't function properly If you know what I mean, write 50 500-750 word articles everyday Your drain may be drained sometimes, and yet you still need to produce something.. T_T

If you're aiming at 50 articles a day, I'm not surprised you run out of ideas. Surely that's too much creativity? And I can't help thinking the quality will suffer as well. Please don't take this as criticism - it's not meant to be.

I'd just think of a different angle on the articles and write fresh ones. It'll probably be a whole lot easier than rewriting what somebody else has written. I'm speaking from experience here. I edit a community newsletter, and it takes me longer to edit submissions from other people than it would have taken me to write the piece myself. I do it cheerfully, because I want other people to contribute, but I certainly wouldn't choose it as a working method if I was trying to earn a living from my writing. Are you a member of Helium? I get lots of inspiration from there, and also here on Mylot. As writers, we should always be looking around for the next idea, or a different angle on something we've read. I wish you luck with your writing.

Aww Sandra, you never know how badly written some articles are.. Haha Don't worry, I like what I am doing and I never create and finish an article just because there is money waiting for me in my paypal account.. I have tried to register with Helium, however, my country is not included.. What else can go wrong..

LOL. That's pretty funny about the community newsletter. I guess you should probably use those spelling and grammar checkers. I must admit it sure does take a while to re-write.

Hmm, I haven't tried Helium yet. I'll make sure to give that website a look! By the way, I love your last sentence. It's so true! I constantly have ideas whirling around in my head, just waiting to be written down on paper. By the way, bravo! I like your tactic for rewriting articles, though I doubt I'd write a fresh article when asked to rewrite someone else's article. It just sounds like a lot of work to me! Then again, some articles are so messed up that you need to write a fresh one! Hehe, luckily I only came across two of those.
