Why won't my pet frog eat?

I recently bought a new pet frog (African Dwarf Frog) two days ago from Petco. I'm a fish hobbyist, so this would be the first time I've kept a frog. I brought the little guy home, placed him in the tank and tried feeding him. He didn't eat anything, so I figured that he just needed to get used to his environment. A day later, I tried feeding him again. Still he hasn't eaten anything. Now, he mostly hides out inside the fish log I have floating in the water (he seems to adore it!). I'm not sure if he's eating when I'm not looking.. but it's really starting to worry me. I've been feeding the frog TetraFauna ReptoMin. He doesn't seem to be touching the mini-sticks or mini-krill. He has tried to eat the baby shrimp a few times.. though I don't think he got much down. The baby shrimp usually falls out of his mouth and onto the floor. Once the food hits the gravel, he doesn't touch it again. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I have no idea why he won't eat.. Maybe he is eating while I'm away? I hope so.. I can't tell whether or not the food is being eaten though.

It seems that the African Dwarf Frog doesn't normally need to be fed every day. I was just reading this website where this person states they feed their frog about every 3 days. Here is the link, and there is lots of good information on here. http://allaboutfrogs.org/info/mypets/dwarfs.html I hope this helps :)

Thanks a bunch Oly! That website helps a lot. I heard some frogs don't need to be fed everyday, but wasn't sure if it was the African Dwarf Frog as well. You answered everything! Now I can rest in ease. :)

Not a problem, I'm happy to help. Please do let me know if the situation improves any? I'm glad to see you're a concerned froggy parent as so many people get animals just to have them and don't really care about their well being. Good luck to you

I think my African Dwarf frog actually _is_ eating when I'm not looking. I recently cleaned the tank and the little bit of food I put in there disappears after a while. I also got to witness my frog shedding, heh. They definitely are interesting creatures.

Heh, yep. I like them as well. My frog now likes to eat blood worms from my fingers lol. Every now and then, he also eats from the top of the tank when I'm not looking.
