I've always buried my pets close to wherever I'd be living. I've never had one die in a place that had a cemetery for pets. I pick a place where I know it won't be disturbed for at least a few years. As for feeling sad, I do...it's hard not to when you have a pet that can acknowledge your presence and you have a real connection with it.

I have been burying my pets in the yard. I don't see the point of wasting so much money on a professional for something I could do myself. However, I am developing physical disabilities. So, it is very difficult for me to dig. A better way is to opt for cremation, if I can afford it, and either bury the ashes, a smaller hole, or put them on a shelf.
