Best toys for kittens

I have a kitten which I have had for about 4 weeks now. As you know kittens have a lot of energy and need plenty of things to keep them interested. We have given her a scratch post, a ball that rattles (which she loves) and a mouse toy. Does anyone have any other suggestions for good toys? What has your cat enjoyed the most? What can't your pet resist playing with?

I think kittens like anything that has sounds in it.a ball with a bell inside that they can play around that is big enough it can't be swallowed will entertain a kitten.a pull string which can be swallowed can be a good toy too.it will make them feel like they're chasing their tails.

One thing to remember when giving cats a toy... be there and watching them! A cat that was playing with the balls that have the holes in them, got it caught on it's claw...past the joint. The toy had to be cut off with tinsnips and pliers, because it was wedged so much. Also be careful of choking hazards with things that can fit in their mouths, and also string (or string-like stuff) that they can get tangled/strangled in. My cat's favorite toys.... a ball with a little bell inside, toilet paper rolls, lazer pointer, milk jug caps.

any kitten i'd ever had-their all time favorite toy was one i didn't buy-an empty toilet paper roll.they spent every free moment chasing and pouncing on it.
