I think every one of us have ask our parents how they arrived of giving us our first name. We would end-up of them telling us how especial our name to them. Mine have its own story too. My first name is "JOEL". But, as curious as a cat, I click the google and type "joel meaning" and here's what I've found.
"The boy's name Joel is pronounced JOH-ul. It is of Hebrew origin, and its meaning is "Jehovah is the Lord". It has two variants :Joell and Yoel. Joel is a very common first name for mean (#133 out of 1220) and a very common last name for both men and women." (source: www.thinkbabynames.com)

My baptismal name is Kyriaki, which is Greek. In English it translates to mean Sunday or Day of the Lord.

I just went and check out what my name means and it said Bright Fame. I am not sure what that means though.

My name is V-Ann and yes that is all one name. My mother said she named me after a fancy french dress shop that she passed every time she went to the doctor for check ups. I have no idea what is means because it is in no name books or online places that I can find. If you find it out, feel free to let me know :)

Honestly, I don't know. I have checked the meaning of my name but to no avail.
When I gave my daughter, I made sure that it has a meaning. . The meaning of her name is "intelligent". .. I'm so glad that my daughter is quite good. Imagine at age three, she can already read words up to five letters. I'm glad to have chosen a name which means "intelligent".

My name i have already looked up numerous times. It means wealthy one. I believe thats right. I dont' consider it correct thought. Im not poor but i don't consider myself wealthy at least currency wise. LOL! I dont know why my parents named me that but ive never asked.

My name is the combination of my mother and father's name. mY mom is the one who gave me that name.
From what i have researched my name means a "fighter". Just thinking about this, well it makes it looks right since ever since i was a child i've always been a fighter in everything. Well not that kind that one would get into a "fight" with other kids or people, but mostly in what i am doing and what i want to have in life.

I've known what my first name has meant since I was a little girl and to be honest I've always been enchanted the meaning of my name. My name is 'Sarah' and it means princess. So I've never been disappointed with my name, lol, it suites me :p

According to my mother I got my name from her neighbor.lol!She admired her neighbor for being so pretty and kind so she gave me that name and I was so hurt when she told me that I was the "opposite" of that neighbor's description.huhuhu. Since then I hated my name and wished to change another.
I also read the meaning of my name in a Baby Book Of Names some years back. My name signifies happiness and joy, which sometimes reflect in my personality, I think it's true.

I like my name so much. I won't ever tade it for any other name. My name is a combination of my father and mother's name. It actually rhymes with my mother's. And what I like most is my name is not that common.

LOL. I have a rather unique name, and everyone keeps asking me if its Japanese or Greek. In my younger days, I used to get irritated when people keep asking me about it because like most teenagers, I like to just simply blend in and not stand out. But as I got older, I came to appreciate what unique name I have and always take time to correct people when they mispronounce it. I later found out my name is actually a scientific name of an ORCHID but my father always told me it means HOLY QUEEN. lol
