Don't we have laws prohibiting the defacement of our flag? I might add, the sale ended abruptly even after stating that there was more than enough to go around: http://freedomtalk.lefora.com/2009/10/13/outrage-obamas-face-on-the-flag/page1/

Wow I can't believe you all are making such a big deal over this. I mean before obama we had Bush was he not the worst? I hate to say it but this does sound like a little bit of racism. Burning a flag because it has Obamas face on it Wow!

[sarcasm] Of course it sounds like racism, it was anti-Obama, it MUST be racism. [/sarcasm] Be for warned, acusing a user here of being racist with out blatent proof can be considered lible and is grounds for banning.

No one said they were going to burn the flag because it had Obama's face on it, and don't you Obama supporters have any other response to anything other than "Bush blah-blah"? This is the American flag. Obama nor any other president belongs on it, it is a symbol of the country. It stands for the past, the present and the future of our nation. Do you really think it should be adorned with the face of any man? Obama is president but he's not the country. Bush was president but he wasn't the country. How does it sound like racism to not want people to cheapen the flag by making it a statement of support of any one man rather than a support of the nation and its principles. The real racism is in the eyes of the beholder, I guess. You guys see racism around every corner.

I think that only applies if it was an official flag in the first place. If someone had cut off or removed the stars then put Obama's face on or over the stars. It's also legal to burn a flag. Of course if you do it with Obama's face on it there would be screams of racism. Another president's face, they wouldn't say a word. I better now say what I'm thinking.

Ok..so it wasn't an OFFICIAL flag first...seems like the message is clear enough though, Obama IS America! Let's pledge allegiance to HIM. What is interesting, eBay abruptly stopped the sale after complaints were made.

I'd leave America before I'd do that. We already know there would be people who would though, which is truly sad.

I am pretty sure that this sale ended abruptly because it was defacing the flag.

Maybe it ended abruptly because the White House called the vendor and whispered "not yet, it's too soon, you'll tip them off as to the future dictatorship we're planning".

Now, that's a thought! But, I fear the supporters of this farce are to far gone to get it.

The worship of this man is really scary. I don't know what country I am in anymore. When I was a kid, we didn't worship the president, not even those that were very popular or for whom our families voted and supported. We respected the president and we understood our government to be of the people, by the people and for the people. There has been such a distaste for patriotism for so long, the kids don't understand how important a symbol like the flag is. I believe it will change, but a new generation will have to suffer oppression and subsequently seek freedom in order to re-establish the pride and patriotism in the nation we once cherished.

Oh Debra, now you've made me feel bad. It was a joke, you read the discussion the other day on links. I don't press them but if I'm friends with them I post and say it doesn't work. You'll have to get to know me better.

Thea...I copied and pasted it directly, and it worked for me. I wish I could figure out just what the procedure is to post a link here. Some are active and others, done the same way, aren't. Sorry. I know how you dislike this problem. Now, I feel awful...

never really cared much for the debate over the pledge of allegience, never cared one way or the other... but, that is one flag, I would not make a pledge to!

Which ever one leaves...I'm moving there! lol Really, that is sorta scary....Obama can't have dissention in the ranks. He's proven that with the healthcare issue. That could get ugly. But I do think it's a real possibility. Despite those who refuse to see what is going on...there's a whole lot of fed up people in America.

Hi Korina...I don't think Obama is behind this. Probably just some enterprising supporter. But it does make me wonder if his supporters think it is ok. The face of Obama was in place of the blue field of stars, which are symbolic of our union of states....did the originator want us to think that Obama IS symbolic of that union? While I do agree, THE OFFICE of the presidencey is symbolic of America...it is not ANY ONE PRESIDENT IN PARTICULAR that symbolizes America.

well, got to admit, there's been lots of talk among the states about leaving our nice little union... maybe there's a hidden message in that flag.

And here we have one of those conundrums. As much as I hate (even the idea of) anyone soiling the flag by putting that socialist globalist liar's face on it, I believe that it's quite likely a 1st amendment right to do so--and like Voltaire and everyone else much wiser and more charismatic than myself would say, "I will die for your right to say those things I find offensive." dr...

I've quoted Voltaire myself a time or two. Heck, if Obama can have a poster of a communist at one of his campaign headquarters.... I guess he can have his face on a flag all over eBay. But I'm leaving the country if one gets flown over the White House!

Yes, we do have those laws. Ever since the Supreme Court gave the nod to flag burning, those laws have been largely ignored. Maybe we should deface all those activist judges.

(shaking head sadly) more insanity. A president, no matter who, should not have their face on the american flag.
