Is my phone a total lost? My two year old dropped it in the toliet. I have bought three phones this year due to my little one. I'm starting to think she works for the phone company.

When I was watching The Today Show, they did a segment on how to fix your cellphone if dropped in the toilet. They said that first remove your battery and sim then get some uncooked dried rice and put the phone and the rice in a plastic bag preferably zip lock bags then make sure that your cellphone is completely covered with rice. Leave the bag in a warm dry place. The rice will act as a moisture absorber and will completely dry your phone. I've read a lot of people who swear by this method so I hope it works. :)

My son who is 13 drops his phones in water all the time as well as throws them when he is in a temper. We have given up getting him a phone as it was costing us too much to replace them all the time.Have you never put insurance on a phone that you have got new as in accidental damage as that may help at least you would get it replaced.Have you tried drying it out in a warm place in your house.

It never happened to me to drop it in the water, but a friend of mne did, and after drying it properly it was working again. Don't swich it on until you have dried all its parts very well. You coul also use a hairdryer. It you already tried switching it on I don't know if you did any damage. wish you good luck

I have never had that happen to me as I am always careful with it to make sure it doesn't drop into the toilet. I usually put it on the floor, so it won't land in the toilet. I just have to make sure I don't step on it. I hope mine ever does fall in the toilet, but if it does, I will be sure to try the dried rice, as I have heard that before. It seems simple enough for sure. I hope taht it works for you. Take care and happy mylotting.

i worked for a cell company for years and yes it is trashed. people use to dry with hair dryers put the phone in a baggie full of rice lol all kids of stuff. but really once moisture is inside it sets up corrosion and spreads like cell phone cancer! it may dry out and work a day or 6 months but eventually it will start doing crazy things and then it will die! So sad sorry to hear it happened to me before too! buy phones on ebay by the lot! I washed my daughters phone in the washer and she got a new one and 2 days later I did it again because she kept it in her pocket. I went to ebay and purches a bulk lot of phones for like 30 bucks - she went threw them lol! its the cheapest way even beats insurance cost!

it also happened to me about 2 years ago. what i did is that i removed the battery, then removed my sim, got a blow drier, have it dried, turned it on, and my phone worked again!=) and oh they're right, make sure not to turn your phone on if it's not yet completely dry. good luck! ^.^
