my Mac's hard drive got fried

I have been a mac user for more than a year now. And two weeks ago, my mac crashed. I was a bit crazy since I have not really taken cared of my mac. And last wednesday, I brought it to the mac doctor and viola, the technician knew how to repair it. He told me that my HD was the problem, thus I have to lose all of my files. In the end, maintaining a mac is costly, but with my experience last week, i learned to love mac more. :)
