How do you manage a situation whereby you are working in a foreign country and you want to be part of the team but somehow you face rejecting because you are a foreigner. No one really tells you that they don't like you like because you are a foreigner but you can read between the lines that you are not welcome. One example being a situation where you find people discussing some topical issue then you try to join in and everyone just suddenly keeps quite.

well i know what you mean as i myself am working in a foreign land, but the best thing you should do first is don't try too hard, you just have be be who you are, be natural with them, they will soon adjust to the fact that your a foreigner, for my case what i did was to be chreeful in the office greet them every morning and talk to them politely, and be helpful, sometime an extra good deed helps too like if someone needs a hand to carry stuff or need help in an item which you happen to know how then lend a helping hand, they will slowly accept you. i also remember before that since i was new to this place i keep on asking some of my collegues to help me out where are the good places to go to in their country, most often they will shower you with advices of where's and the how's, also ask for good food or specialties, then give them a feed back when your back, better yet ask them if they could be kind to show you around, this way you can break the ice, you must understand people are alway scared of things which are new or foreign to them but once you let them see that your harmless they will soon accept you.

ya it happens.people take time to be comfortable with a foreigner no matter how hard you might be trying to be one among them. i would suggest is please be patient .it seems bad initially but they will gradually open upto you. things might not improve drastically but it wont be that bad either. so just hang on a little longer.give them time to know you better .all the best.
