Obama's Marijuana Policies

United States
October 19, 2009 3:04pm CST
Today the White House released a memo on new policy about those who use medicinal marijuana. The policy basically states and that law officials can no longer arrest or persecute those using marijuana within their legal rights. The memo advises prosecutors they, and I quote, "should not focus federal resources in your states on individuals whose actions are in clear and unambiguous compliance with existing state laws providing for the medical use of marijuana." So our law officials spent time and money to write up a policy telling "officials" to only go after people actually breaking the laws. "It will not be a priority to use federal resources to prosecute patients with serious illnesses or their caregivers who are complying with state laws on medical marijuana, but we will not tolerate drug traffickers who hide behind claims of compliance with state law to mask activities that are clearly illegal," Attorney General Eric Holder said in a statement. So yes Mr. Holder Feds won't persecute innocent sick people and earn their pay going after criminals! Am I the only one who finds it absurd that they need to spend their time "fixing" something that should be a no brainer, arrest the criminals not the innocent?

If you do not like what people think of what you say then please do not attack people who didn't say anything.

This is one of the few things I agree with the Administration. This is a state issue and should be decided by the states.

More proof that the idiot Obama thinks all police officers work for him. Even if I do agree with the concept, I can't help but resent Obama's arrogance for the way he went about it.

This kind of thing is maddening, but it goes on all the time. Legal personnel and law enforcement people often abuse their authority. Yes, by all means, pick on the criminals and not the innocent. Karen
