I was wondering what causes blue screens of death? Is it because of the malfunctioning drivers that is the issue, or is it registry errors? Also, I would like to know which operating shows this symptom. I've mostly heard a Macintosh (Mac) does this, but I also heard quite a lot of rumors that Personal Computers (PC) also causes these problems. Which ones are true? Thanks, I really appreciate your vivid answers in this wonderful site!

Hi there. I frequently experience this type of problem and I'm using a PC with Windows as my operating system. I noticed that I only experience it when I installed a new program or when my drive space is going low. So now I'm being very careful with stuffing my hard drive. :) shadow41

I am using a laptop that has Windows Vista on it and I have enver experienced that with this computer. I have in the past though with Windows 95 and Window 98. Of course those operating systems had lots of glitches to them. I had an antivirus program install itself on my computer, and I couldn't uninstall it without activating it. I bought it to acitivate it, and come to find out it is a fraud so I will be getting my money back. The only way I could get the program off was to do a system restore, and now it is gone. I am not happy when things install on my computer, when I didn't authorize them. Take care, and happy mylotting.

Yes, I have had those before. It is not fraud, nor is it an anti virus. It is a virus itself! More specifically a rouge! You should have never bought it. I do not think they will give you your money make cause they are not a real company. They do not have a phone number, and you won't find any traces of them. You should have used Malware Bytes Antimalware. It removes the Trojan from the source. Remember not to do a system restore when you have a virus. I learned that the hard way... Good luck, Funorb12

There is a lot of reasons you can get a BSOD. Most common as stated is drivers but loose video cards, spyware, malware etc can be your cause as well. If you still need help I can help Isolating the problem.

I experience having my old desktop with blue screen when i install a pirated XP PRof OS as upgrade to window2000 and it keep locking..thus, I ave to reinstall it again until it totally went blank..then I went to the computer shop to repair it they could no longer fix it because the CPU heated and the capacitors are all damage thus they try to replace but to no avail..so the old desktop could still be turn on but the hard drive always on and off..thus i totally abandon it and the CPU lies on the bodega..Well, now have 2 laptop and 1 desktop and i ensure they have original OS as having pirated softwares damage my CPU fast...

I have encountered this problem many a times and every time this happened it was due to a driver update which wasn't support by the hardware. I have a PC and I think that almost every computer does this and it is done in-order to protect your computer from damage. When some drivers are not supported then its wise to remove them as it may damage some parts and then you would be left weeping.
