Referees

Saturday, the Arkansas Razorbacks played the #1 Team in the Nation: Florida Gators.
There were two calls that were quite questionable by the referees. Even the television announcers, said that the calls were incorrect.
They were a total of 30 yards against the Hogs, and caused two automatic first downs for the Gators, which allowed them to score, tie the game, and eventually kicked a field goal and won.
Now, while Arkansas did some other things wrong, these calls really effected the game.
Today, the Southeastern Conference released a statement that said they had reviewed film from the game on Saturday and yes, the refs call was incorrect! Not that this statement helps us two days later, but it does make the fans feel better that the calls were bad.
Has this ever happened to a team that you follow? Do you hate it when you feel like you're having to play the referees as well as the other team?

I saw that this morning on Sportscenter. And apparently that same referee team also screwed up a game deciding call in a NCAA Georgia game this year. I've seen OU lose a game due to a bad call. That was about two years ago I think. It made me sick. And I hate it when it happens in the pros. Early this season an referee in an NFL game cost the Chargers a win. However, considering I don't care about the Chargers, I shrugged it off.
I gotta think that particular referee group is going to get some backlash by the NCAA.

I read this on my e-mail last night but had already taken pain meds and my brain was foggy, so I didn't respond. I saw the Sports Center piece. They are calling it the conspiracy theory! I didn't realize how lopsided the penalties were! Arkansas had 90 yards in penalties, Florida had 16!
