I have to humbly disagree with you. Money is important; but money alone will not give you the ultimate power in this world. Although the lack of money can bring about a lot of unhappiness and make you feel powerless in a lot of situations, it is not the final answer for success. Some say that power is measured by how much money you have and how many people you control. That is only one kind of success. If you spend all of your life building your bank account and have no time for family and friends, more than likely, you will spend your later years alone and lonely. Of course, with all of your wealth, you can buy companionship. I'm not sure how satisfying that will be. But would you still consider yourself as having succeeded in life? Success is a very personal thing. A parent may measure success by how well their children turn out as adults. If all of the kids graduate from college and go on to lead lives that make the parents proud, then the parents feel they are a success. If someone struggles with an addiction and comes out clean, that is their success. If someone works his way up from the mailroom to CEO of a Fortune 500 company, that is his success. Someone who lived in a ghetto surrounded by gangs measures success by staying alive and out of trouble. Others measure success by how much money they acquire. Since Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and Carlos Slim Helu are purported to be the three richest men in the world, then by your measure, they are the most successful men in the world. But what if the wealth is inherited? What if they never lifted a finger to earn a dime? Do you still call them a success? I call them blessed with money. To me, you succeed through your own toil. Money does not have to be your ultimate goal. If you devote your life to charity and never have a lot of money, you have succeeded. If you work hard, and give your best to your family, friends and community, to me you have succeeded. You must succeed as a human being otherwise it is all for nothing.

To answer your question, do I consider myself a success, yes. I don't think you achieve success in one area and then sit down. Life is full of challenges. Each time you reach a goal or milestone, you move on to the next one.

It has been proven that if you do the things that you love, that you are good at, then the money follows. Rarely does money come if all you are doing is chasing the money. Even Bill Gates started out with love for his work. He started out developing software and working on his computer in his garage. The money came because he followed his dream.

It's hard to define success because humans can be successful in many ways. Yes, I understand your feelings and I have felt the same way that I am still able to open my eyes to see this complicated world the next morning and can still breathe the fresh air though chilly now. our mood is changing all the time. Right now, I feel my life is screwed up. I begin to lose my confidence and motivation to pursue my career. I see no goals in front of me. I used to think I was quite successful compared to my peers but now it's time for me to think it twice. A life without a clear goal is really horrible, I must admit.
