Ofcourse, the best ever, would be Severus Snape. If you've read all the series, you'll know what I mean.

That would have to be Remus Lupin. I am a fan of Happy Potter and have read the books over and over. I think it was with Lupin that they really learned so much, especially when it comes to defense against the dark arts.

I still have to say Lupin. Even with the way things ended for Snape, I think as far as teachers go Lupin taught the students more about how to defend themselves than Snape did.

I think Lupin's been the only NORMAL defense against the dark art's teacher that Hogwarts had throughout the series. He teaches them some really cool stuff, and he's got a really likable personality. (Mostly I like him 'cause he was James' friend lol). I think we should give Snape more credit though. To be honest I think he'd better than Lupin if given the chance. But I guess we'll never know.

My personal favorite is without a doubt Remus Lupin. I liked his character a lot. He seemed like a very loving, caring person and treated Harry very well, which is something harry needed at that point of time. His style of teaching was really good and that was evident in the way all the students enjoyed it. I loved the way he tested them with the obstacle course. The chapter in which he shows them the bogart is fantastic. He shows it to them and makes each one of them fight it one by one so that they get a feel of how they are supposed to do it. He was a very hands on teacher and i would have loved for all my teachers to have been like that.
