How many times do you eat a day?

In the morning I have some bread. Then I get myself a decent meal for lunch. In the afternoon I rarely have snacks. I usually wait up until dinner to eat with my family. While watching TV at night, I tend to look for snacks like chips and stuff. Do you think it's a good habit? What about your habit? I'm just being curious here. any reply will be great!

It depends on how hungry I am. It is supposed to be good to eat five small meals insted of three large ones but that isn't really practical. I generally eat a real meal once or twice and have fruit or snacks when it's convenient.

That's a great idea. Smaller size of meal will help. I heard that eating slower also help your diet somehow..

Not if you do it correctly. The idea is to eat smaller portions and eat more often to avoid hunger and binges. Most people overeat and eat the wrong kinds of foods.

In the morning I love fresh fruit. If I am in a hurry I will make some toast with peanut butter and take it with me though. I love coffee in the AM as well. By about 10 AM I am hungry again and have a snack. Usually a granola bar or trail mix. Then for lunch, around noon, I have a sandwich and a side. Sometimes soup, sometimes chips, sometimes cut veggies. Then I have a quick snack around 3 PM. Usually something like yogurt or fruit. For dinner, around 5 PM, it is a sit down affair. All the main food groups and plenty of protein. I like to have a bowl of cereal before I head to bed around 10PM.

I know it is a crazy amount of food but I really like to eat. I find that when I let myself get hungry I end up at McDonalds with a big mac. I pack my own food to bring with me and I eat when I get a little hungry. My portions are not all that big but I do love fresh fruit and veggies. My fiber levels I think are pretty good. I am actually continuing to loose my "babywieght" and I do excercise pretty regularly.

Oh so you exercise regularly. Good for you. It means you have a way to balance it all. Be careful on those McD junk food, though..

I eat twice a day, I will skip breakfast as I dont feel very hungry in the morning, this way it helps to maintain my body weight also....

I was also in the belief that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and so should not be skipped and must be had as a king..... So I used to feel guilty if I dont have a proper breakfast... as I said I dont feel hungry in the morning.... But I read in the health book by Mahatma Gandhi, in that he said many things, some of them are humans are the only animals who eat all the time... other animals eat only when they are hungry... I thought how true... He also went on saying we dont have to eat anything in the morning as normally we dont feel hungry and its infact good to skip breakfast..... He also said not to drink coffee but I do take coffee in the morning.... So now I happily skip breakfast when I am working but if I am at home and I feel hungry I do eat something..... and I really dont feel sick.... I also eat only when I am hungry..... it really really helps to maintain my weight and I feel healthy.....

I'm used to skipping breakfast to but my mom always says that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. so she aleays try to serve some bread and tell me to eat some. Maybe you could have some bread too since breakfast is the one meal that will energize you in the morning. Do you drink coffee in the morning then?

Hello nooveggies, I don't have a good habit. I eat a little every time but very often. I tend to snack too sometimes whenever I feel like eating. I don't wait to eat until I really get hungry. I know it is not good but it has become a habit to me. Quite hard to get rid of bad habit sometimes...

I hate being really hungry too. So I tend to say yes when a family member ask me to accompany them eating even though I'm not yet hungry :)

Eating each day is something we all have in common. There is the traditional breakfast, lunch and dinner. I alway eat breakfast and dinner. Lunch time doesn't always happen. Sometimes it turns into more of a snack time. I also like to have a snack late in the afternoon and late in the evening. Chips and popcorn and anything chocolate are some of my favorite snacking habits. Otherwise, if it sounds good and looks good, time to eat!

I eat 4-5 times a days.in the morning-i drink coffee and bread,take heavy lunch in the afternoon,snacks mid afternoon,dinner and mid night snacks when i watch free movies online. everything in moderation thats why im not fat. :)

give it a try- eat more frequent but in small amounts-i also dont deprive myself from eating chips and chocolates. i also eat that almost everyday but in small amounts usually after lunch or dinner. : j

I eat about 4-6 times a day. I have coffee and toast for breakfast or cereals and then lunch and then about 3-4PM I start to get hungry again and I'll have coffee and cookies or juice and chips and then dinner and then sometimes I eat before bedtime. I don't think I'm eating healthy though but I am trying to cut down on my intake and watch what I'm eating.

Oh my gosh. We have the exact same pattern for meals. I am exactly the same as you. I have cereal or bread and some milk for breakfast. For lunch, I always eat rice, meat, and vegetables. In the afternoon, sometimes I eat snacks, sometimes I don't. Then for dinner, sometimes I have rice, sometimes not. After dinner, I usually eat some sweets or some chips. I think our meal pattern is alright. It may not be the most healthy habit. But it is also not that bad.

Well, as usual, we have breakfast,lunch and dinner.However on weekends,the routine changes. Since we stay up late, we wake up late too. So,its brunch for everyone. It is the same for other public holidays. Sure, we do snack, if our meals are small. Oftentimes, we call for take-away meals if we are hungry. No, we are not habitual snackers!

Well,I'd like to say that it isn't a good habit to have something to eat at night,Expecially before you go to bed.You may drink some milk instead. That will be helpful to your sleep. And in the afternoon, I don't have snacks ,too.I like to have some fruit which is decilious and healthy.

I drink milk before sleeping at night because i sometimes find trouble sleeping. I find that drinking it helps me sleep better. Besides, it's high in calsium too.

I usually eat three to five times a day.. I usually eat rice with dried fish, smoke fish, hotdog and egg.. It's really good to have a heavy breakfast foe me to stay active until lunchtime.. At lunch time I prefer to eat vegetables and meat. At dinner I don't eat much. I usually take snacks twice a day but sometimes I don't.. that happens when I don't have enough money in my pocket ehehe..

I eat many times during the day. Rice with meat/vegetable/egg or four slices of white bread laced with jam and peanut butter with warm ginger tea as drink as breakfast. I take snacks in between if available (through others, mostly). I take rice with meat/vegetable/egg for lunch. Snacks again in between. And then at night rice again. I am an South East Asian so I eat lotsa rice :)

I'm from there too. I'm Indonesian living in Jakarta. You reminded me of my father. He never fell full unless he has eaten some rice. Whenever we go outside of the country, he stills look for rice to eat. it's just the thing for some South East Asian I think. :)

I prefer more meals a day, which is said to benefit health. but I just eat three times everyday. Dinner is least important in my menu, sometimes I am lured by the smell of foods outside, there are always a lot of sancks sold downstairs, but I can resist. I need to keep slim. I, however, have to acknowledge it's so happy to taste lots of delicious foods.

it depends on the day of the week. monday-friday i skip breakfast because i don't up early enough, for lunch i eat pizza and fries lol. and for the rest of the afternoon, if i'm hungry i just find something small snack on and do this until i'm full. on weekends i'm not up early enough to call any meal breakfast and i snack around all day until dinner and i eat dinner. it's not the healthiest but oh well :D

You eat snack until you're full?! That's interesting! If I'm hungry, I tend to look for something like a meal or bread. Eating snacks until I'm full doesn't work for me. It's like no matter how much sncaks I've eaten, I don't feel full. LOL!

Hello, usually i eat three times a day that is in the morning, at noon and in the evening. My usual meal would include a rice and a viand for I came from a country where rice is a staple food at every meal. Although here are times that i eat more than three times that is if I am taking in between meals. Though i realized that in between meals is not good at all for me since it adds up to my weight fast and i soon realized that i am getting fatter with this usual habit. How about you did you notice the same since you like eating while you watch TV? Have a great day!!!

While wathching tv, I sometimes eat chocolates. yes, I know. I gain much calories from chocolate I guess. They are so delicious, especially the dark one. Most of the times I eat chips, though Watching TV with nothing to chew seems incomplete. LOL!

I eat breakfast, mostly bread if I'm ever up at the morning haha, then morning snack, lunch, merienda, dinner, and midnight snack. haha I eat a lot right? That is why I don't get slim, and I don't have the capacity to diet haha

LOL! I once tried to lose some wiight to but I can't!. There's no motivation in me that tell me to stop eating. maybe when I'm overweight, then I'll begin a strict diet schedule :p

If I have lots of jobs to do or it is on weekend, I tend to only eat twice a day. From where I stand, people have to eat even when they are not feeling hungry, which is just a habit. Sometimes, I don't even realise I haven't eaten in 6 hours. On weekend, I usually stay on my bed all the day so that I often forget to have a meal. Eating three meals a day is a good habit. But if you are not so busy, a snack may be a good idea.

I also love snacks before dinner. But then mom always says don't. She said that I should just wait until dinner and eat a meal. LOL!
