What do you think about wedding superstitions? Are there many wedding superstitions in your country? What about the color of the wedding dress? Are there any colors which are considered unlucky?

There are lots of wedding superstitions I have heard and even seen done by not the bride or groom but those surrounding them. I think it's really funny that the couple would just go along with these to avoid heartaches by their elders. Most common are in rural areas and in these days and age there are still wedding beliefs practiced. I've been to a friend's wedding in the rural area and I noticed that the bride would step on a plate at the entrance of her house then combed by a youngest member of either the bride or groom and the couple would drink water with something in it. (I don't know what, did not ask) I ask my friend's sister and she doesn't know the meaning of these practices. The not seeing the bride before the wedding ceremony is really funny because the couple are already living together before they got married.

hi lucia 2 well here in the United States I can only think of the one where it is considered unlucky if the groom sees the bride to be in her wedding dress before the ceremony, and the idea that the b rides always wear white for their wedding dress. White is considered proof of chastity which is so funny considering now days very few women are virgins when they get'married. I think here black for a wedding dress would be 'considered very unlucky.
