How many yards are on a spool of thread?

I'm trying to see what the best value is for some invisable thread to sew on my DD1's Girl Scout troop patches, they are comming off & we lost one already.

i think 3 to 7,depending. you should try sealing the end with a bit of superglue. that what i used to do when i did costuming,kept the thread from loosening up.
