I don't need any more money, what I had so far is enough

Human being are never satisfied with anything. If they want a car today, they would think of a flat tomorrow and than for an plot of land with a huge building, and their expactations goes on. People want to be rich and once they achieve a target, they keeps going on for the next level and than goes on like that. I thought that I had enough online work. So, I want to pause my work here. Whatever I am doing is enough for me to do. The amount I am earning is sufficient to give me my casual expenditure. I won't venture new sites unless they are proven to yield quite a high amount. Did you ever thought that whatever you are earning is enough for yourself?

What is enough? That is a difficult question but the answer sometimes is determined by people's life situation and their age. Sometimes it is just a challenge to see how much you can accumulate like winning a game. For me, my husband and I are older and for several years he was mostly laid off from his construction work. We are trying to pay off debts that were accumulated during his time of lack of work. You are younger, so if you had a set back in your life's work, you have plenty of years to recuperate. My husband was in his middle 50's when this happened and is now over 60 and we don't have a lot of years to get back the money we lost during that time. It is expensive to be a senior if you don't have enough money coming into your income. I do notice that there are a lot of seniors on the sites to try to make that extra money. It is not out of greed, it is often out of necessity for food, rent and medical care.

Thank you for your lovely comment and I understand totally that it is what is good for you. It is nice to feel that you are happy and satisfied. Many people are so unhappy and that reflects in their comments too. You seem to be a very nice and happy person.

I appreciate your way of thinking. Probably you are practical in your way of thinking. But, what I was talking was completely about myself. I am satisfied with what I am earning from my online activities and so don't want to stress myself any more. I just want to continue what I am doing at the hour. I think you had seen the life more closely as you had reached an age of retirement.

If you voted for universal free healthcare in the US like we have in the UK, you wouldn't have to worry about paying for healthcare. Maybe your government should spend a little less on it's armed forces and a little more on healthcare for it's people, so then life expectancy in the US wouldn't be as low as it is.

I don't really need the money I earn online, but I'm surfing the internet anyway. And whenever I don't have anything to do, or when I'm just bored, I can earn some extra money so why wouldn't I? :) I don't feel that it's necessary for me to join new sites that will pay me. However, I want to explore my options and discover new things. I know that what I'm earning is enough, but why stop if you like it? Why would I stop posting on MyLot if I enjoy it? Just because I earn money while doing it even though I don't need it? I'm not harming anyone by earning money online so that's why I keep on doing it! :)

Well, I think either I am not clear with what I was speaking on my discussion or you must have got a wrong message from what I had stated. Anyway, what you had said so far in your response is appreciated just because it is a truth. But, as the discussion is on a category "make extra money", it obviously implies that I am talking about earning online. I do activities other than earning money and those are pleasure work. It doesn't matter much if I am getting paid for them or not. Thanks for your response.

Oh okay, I seem to indeed have misunderstood what you meant. :) And I'm not bored all the time, nor do I want to be online for 24 hours every day! Whenever I'm done studying, or just don't feel like going out, then I can get bored and I just log on to mylot for a half hour. It's not like I'm on here all the time! :)

Dear maclanis, fine u are earning a lot enough for you. u are responding through myLot is good! U said u are bored ..... I suggest do not keep earning while u are bored, but divert your mind . It is better to divert. I also like tobe online 24 hrs a day. But i can not do! Your mind & body requires relaxation & change! When I bored working conterminously online,I go to terrace, see natural things! Walk for sometime.I also do Shirshana. Continuous online work is injurious to health . It is more injurious to your eyes too. So at any cost do not harm your eyes as well as health. Good subject you choose!

I think it's in our nature to be somewhat ambitious, some people want more goods, some people want more love, some just don't know what they want but they want more. Also, I think it's like a personal challenge, if you got that far, how further can you get? like an achievement, one's success. I would dare to guess that some people (I do not generalize) who don't have that much going on and simply don't want to even try, they will feel comfortable with what they have because they feel that can't do anything about it.

Well 316, I agree with you. When we are talking about achievements, we should continue. But, probably I was talking about greediness. Probably not. What I was talking was just about myself and wanted to know what you or others might be having about myself. Thanks for your views.

I would like to be an achiever too, but for me it's more about personal fulfillment than money. I think there are lots of people like me. Maybe I would just want a bigger income if I think my employer is not giving me enough, so it is more an issue of justice than an issue of money.

There was a time that I felt like I was doing pretty well and I was earning enough. I had money for my expenditures and I also had money for savings. I really liked my life back then. Now, I'm not satisfied anymore because I've accumulated lots of debts because I got scammed by a person I trusted so much because of our close relation. I swear I will never entrust my money again to others.

I think you are a great person, not motivated by money, but in this economy we need every penny. Wouldnt it be nice to live a life without worrying about money, such as the rich. The thing you are saying here that drives us is motivation, and if we don't have motivation we won't get our goal, in this case more money. Money is essential, and if you dont have it, you are nothing in this society. Just look at the people with welfare, do you want to live like that pay cheque to paycheque, or want to enjoy a nice vacation in the middle of winter, without worrying about financial situations.

Hi Bluesinjid, you are right in your way of thinking. But, it doesn't reflact what I was talking at my discussion completely. This is because, we have a gap in understanding. What I presumed at the time of constructing my discussion might not be what you predicted while you read it. Thanks for your wonderful response.

Thank you for your thoughtful, value added, positive, and meaningful response. I appreciate what you had said in your response. We should be online for a number of reasons than just for making some out of pocket expenses.

Hi triptibaby! It is nice to know that you feel contended with your earnings and you want to pause at this juncture. You are right, that human beings are greedy and they just cannot feel satisfied with the amount of money, the possess or earn. The burning desires to earn more and more always keep burning inside their minds. Some of the persons openly admit it and others don’t. I also feel contended with my earnings here on mylot and don’t venture out new sites for the sake of earning. Enjoying oneself on these kind of sites is more important than earning money, to my belief.

It is great if you really feel that you don't need any more money and you are happy with what you have. I feel 99 precent of the human population in the world think the other way. The desire of people keep moving from a small thing to a bigger thing. This desire to achieve a better goal keeps people confident and fill him with lots of enthusiasam. If you don't have anything to achieve; life is boring.

That is a good money and financial management. You have a positive attitude when it comes to money and finances and I can sense that you really live within your means. Lifestyle really matters and affect our budget a lot. So if we choose to live a simple lifestyle everything will be taken cared of. No debts, accounts payable and unending bills. Congratulations for reaching that point in your life that HAVE ENOUGH to keep you going and living!

I graduated from my college this year and now I just start my new life in the society. I'm not satisfied with my salary now.But I know how to enjoy my life even if there are so many unhappiness. I consider that may be most of people ignore that point.

i would agree that 99.9% of people are never satisfied with what they have. but i think it usually comes own to one thing, the way you grew up. like me for instance i grew up never having everything that i needed. i couldnt always afford new school clothes or nice shoes. there were days that we had to have macaroni and peas for dinner 2 weeks straight. and times we had to electricity or hot water. so now that i am grown and have my own family i am constantly in a struggle to get more money because i cant imagine ever having to live that way again, so i would rather force myself to work harder just to get the few extra dollars than to feel as if im going to be back in that situaion.

You have a very good attitude about money. Unfortuately, many people love it too much, and don't realize what the true value of life is, and money cannot purchase it.

i'm not out to be rich. I just would like to earn enough to pay my rent without stressing out each mont and to keep up on the electric bill, feed my daughter and provide for her without getting all worried about it. I don't need to be rich. I'm ok with my 2nd hand car...it is after all paid for and it is mine. I don't need property as I suspect that would be just another headache. Not everyone wants to be rich.

Your situation is really good, u can have enough money for your needs but do u ever think of what happens when some needs come unexpectantly, maybe u get sick or you have a faminly member who has urgent needs. it is good u feel u have enough money for your needs but keep mind that someday you may have some unexpected need n u will need extra money for that although your philosopy is good cause it helps curb greed

Yes, I think that humans are never satisfied with anything, however this is what makes us human. Other than just surviving, we need some things to keep us busy, something to do. But I think that we are going about it the wrong way - we shouldn't be just thinking of getting richer and having more possessions, we should think of improving on ourselves. I mean, money should be eliminated, so there will be less of this greed and less of the people suffering. It would also give us all time to do other things, besides worrying about the THINGS we have.
