in my opinion, students should make their best efforts on study, but now ,some my classmates go out to make some money by taking part-time job. i think that is bad for their education.

I don't think that having part time jobs is really bad for students, its just that they will have to balance their time with their studies and work as compared to full time students who only thinks on their studies. But I know of a lot of working students who still got good grades even though their time to study is only limited.

sometimes students have to take up part time vocation to support their study expenses.then its more out of necessity. if its not for absolute necessity then i think students should concentrate more on their studies, as any ways they would be taking up jobs sooner or later so better give their 100% to studies at present.

I dont think that it is wrong to take a part time job. But the studies are more important . So dedicate and concentrate on studies well.In the same time two to three hours of part time job will give a mental satisfaction to the student as well as their parents. The part time job will give a very good knowledge and experience outside the campus world. A part time job while studying will make a man more responsibe because he/she has to be justifiable to both studid and the job

Hi! First post, huh? Welcome to myLOt! Making money beside studying is not that bad as long as you can manage your time. I'm a second year college student and I take part time jobs. At least I call working online and earn money blogging as my part time job. Time management is the key. If you can focus on the task at hand and not confusing working with studying, you're good to go. It's your call :) I hope you'll enjoy being here. Good luck.

During my high-school years, I devoted my time to school and work in order to help my family pay the bills. However, my family has always been a unique set of individuals who admire both work and education as necessities. In terms of my personal viewpoint, it is great to be earning money and going to school only because of the encouraged financial freedom, and the chance to save for retirement or other various major purchases in the future years. In the end this decision depends solely on the individual and the goals which they strive for in life. School takes a lot of dedication these days because of the payload of information that is readily available to everyone, and the volume of topics that can be learned in a class setting. The trouble for me is figuring out what I would take in school, and the overall affordability after the fact. I'm one who hates being in debt, and yet one who loves learning new things. Working and school is a huge toss-up for me. Deciding which one is the best for me is rather a trivial pursuit in the end.

I think it depends on the individual, the courses being taken, and study habits. If the student is disciplined and the load is not too heavy, working might be a good experience.

All learning should not be confined in the classroom. What I learned from school are only theories but the real thing is always out there. I have been a working student and it helps me to broaden my horizon. Working while still studying taught me how to relate better to other people. It has given me the opportunity of not to have a "good to be true" expectations when I start working after graduation. I also learned how to value hard earned money at that time. Happy myloting, wqz319524.

Hi, I think it is correct for students to take up part time job in my opinion. Many do this and still come out well in thier education. This attitude of working part-time and studying do give them work experience side by side to progress further towards their career goals.Thanks. Happy mylotting.

There is nothing wrong working part-time as a student. If you are not taking very taxing subjects you can work. Some times as a student you can have a lot of free time which could best be used for working. It is also good to be independent and earn some pocket money.

If there is a need to then there is nothing wrong with part time jobs. The bad thing is that you don't have a part time job to somehow support or finance your education then you will be left with nothing in the end. No education and no job as well. If your classmates are well endowed then I think you're right when you say that part time job is not goo for their education

I suppose that students make extra money in their spare time is a good things, Beacause some of them lack of money sometimes, do a part-time jop can make them life more confortable. But, student shouldn't totally make money, the study should be take in the first place. what's more, you can take your knowledge into practice by take a part-time jop ,this is important for college students. all of above is my personal opinion.

Well it all depends. 1) Do you need mroe money? 2) Are you doing well enough in all of your classes to put effort into a job?

There are many things to consider- just a few: the age of the student earner, the type of course that the person is doing, the amount of time that the student can spare from studies and relaxation for a part time job, etc., There are a number of courses and degrees that mandate a students internship - a lot of business management, engineering courses, financial accounting courses, and of course medical courses insist that a student put in varying periods as interns. I think taking up a job to earn income is a fine thing if it does not interfere with the education and the the time that is essential for relaxation. If a student can work out a right mix - for all these three, then a part time job is good.

well it actually depend on the individual if they can maintain or not their education while having a part time job. most students take part-time jobs because of financial incapability of the family to sustain their education, i myself took a part-time job when i was in college, i was taking up 2 degree but i needed to also tkae a part-time job because of the economy problem that affected our families income badly. but i know the value of my education and i was very determined to finish my courses no matter what. it was hard but i know both are important to me and i can't allow myself to fail in both thing that i am doing. finally i manage to graduate both my degrees ahead of time. as i even took summer classes just to finish faster. it was a great achivement for me and my mom was so proud. i never regret that i did that. and i even encourage others to do the same and morally support them at it. it all really depend on the will power of a person.

I don't think it's that bad. They may have just took a part-time job so that they can pay for their tuition. But it needs time management and perseverance. Why do you want to take a part-time job? Don't you have money to pay for school? If your parents can afford to pay your school without any problem then I think you should just focus on you studies and forget about a part-time job. shadow41

If your family can afford it then study full time. You will have all the time in the world to work when you graduate. Cheers!

I my opinion, a student should consider taking a part time job, not only to support his studies or because of some financial problems but also to teach them how to be responsible in everything like spending and time managing, and slowly teach them how to become independent.
