As I stated in another discussion, my son moved back in with us today and he has an all white 1 year old cat named BABY. I took this photo in his room downstairs. She has the prettiest green eyes. But the flash from the camera, the lighting in the room, and the angle of the shot made her eyes glow one blueish green and one red. Have you even seen a cats eyes glow 2 different colors even though their eyes are the same color? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

What a beautiful cat! What does man's best friend think of the new additions? My dad showed me a deer in the field Sunday night, he shined a light at it and its eyes glowed brilliant green, it was beautiful. Still looking for those recipes, I haven't forgotten!

Buster is not allowed down in the basement. He is usually great with this until he saw Baby. I heard a loud yelp then Buster came running up the stairs and cowered in his kennel. Nate told me Baby swiped his face as he got too close. Buster has been around cats and other animals but not for a few years. They'll grow accustomed to each other. Baby had been around 2 pitbulls, so she is used to dogs. Just a new face is all for both of them. Nate is keeping Baby downstairs till she gets used to her new home. Then he'll let her raom freely as she wishes. Buster will learn one way or another. HAHAHA! What recipes ya want again? HAHAHA! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

That gave me a belly laugh, thanks! I've always thought it so funny that the most fierce, brave dog will cower in the presence of a cat who knows how to use their claws. They rarely hurt the dogs, but they certainly do establish a pecking order!

I have never noticed that. Note to self - practice flash photography with cats!

aww, Baby looks a lot like our Timus, except she probably doesn't have his scars I'd guess that there is something going on in the eyes that makes it do that - weird.

I haven't seen the picture yet but I will after commenting here, I'm sure you remember my talking about my siamese cat Gracie, the one who passed away from a heart condition. Gosh I miss her something terrible! But she had the most gorgeous dark periwinkle blue eyes that I've ever seen! And no matter how I took a picture of her, what angle or the lighting, it didn't matter, I'd always get that light in the eye on my pictures. I wanted a picture of her eyes and face to keep close to my heart for when she passed but I couldn't get it. It was frustrating because she had the most gorgeous dark periwinkle blue eyes I've ever seen. Now siamese have blue eyes but they're all a different shade. Gracie's was the first I've ever seen in her color but I just couldn't get a picture of them. Oh well.

WOW! You've been responding a lot more than usual lately. Hee hee. I recall Gracie. Don't use flash and take photos from an angle away from any lights. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I know Grandpa but it's because it's something that I'm familiar with. Want me to go away? lol Maybe once I get my garden going next year, I'll respond more. As it is, our garden was a flop but now that we had the ground tested, we know what to do. First is to get some good good soil!!

What a beautiful cat, and so patriotic. Red, White and blue...lol. The flash was probably at a very slight angle causing the different colors. If you try it again, straight on and still get the same results, your son might want to speak to her vet about it. Maybe something is going on with one of her eyes.

Boots and Buttons - I should call them Green Eyes and Sleepy Head...lol
It IS cool. I have two cats. When I take pictures, one always has closed eyes, the other ends up with green eyes.

Hello grandpa bob. I have posted almost the same discussion weeks ago. But my cat's eyes are more like cyclop's eyes. But i have never seen like that one. So pretty. There's so many things camera can do to images.

Nate brought her upstairs to get used to the house and Buster. Well we had to lock Buster up as she was way too nervous. Then Nate went downstairs and Baby ran behind the couch and stayed there for about an hour till I told Nate to get the poor thing. In time she'll get used to everything around here. Hopefully anyhow. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM DADDY!!~

hi nope that is really odd. I did once have a cat who had one brown eye and one blue eye, and she was the best cat, loving and so cuddly , someone shot her and we never found out who. oh that made my husband so angry that anyone could be that cruel. well that is long past now anyway. that is a pretty cat and her eyes sound so pretty too.

Hi GRANDPA BOB, Your son got a beautiful cat, and its strange what reflectios can do, that is why the eyes have different colours in the shot, how would Baby get on with Buster? I wonder. Tamara

Are you sure you spotted two different colors. I have to say that I have never witnessed such a thing ever. Your son has a really beautiful cat. I think the two different color might have been caused due to the different angle as you have mentioned. The refraction of the light through her eye lenses might have caused the light from the camera flash to diffuse and create the effect.

actually , its obvious and not only cat's eyes glow but eyes of mostly animals glow like dog, lion, cow, cat, etc and i have seen this several times. thank god, our eyes dont glow like that otherwise it will look horrible.

This is because they have a reflective lenses at the back of the cornea (sp?) that helps them see easier at night.
