My sick cat

Well, yesterday I posted that I was going to the vet, as my cat kept his eye shut and was under par. It ended up that he has an ulerated ulcer on his cornia. It's painful for him. I got some med eye drops, and have to take him back to the vets Monday. So, be aware if your pets keep one eye shut, it could be serious.

I'm sorry about your cat. I'm sure he will have a speedy recovery. He's lucky to have such a caring owner who checks out strange behavior that other people might overlook.

Thank you dear. I am very concerned, and he has gone to the vet two times this week. We have another appointment Monday. He is not eating or drinking now. And he is drooling. I am so scared, and feel awful as I know he is in pain. We will be checking him out more carefully in his mouth, Monday. I have been praying for him, and trying to feed him a little water off my fingers. Thank you for your reply.

Oh your poor kitty!! Thank God he has an owner who cares enough for him to take him to the vet! You're a wonderful mommy Margie! Hopefully he's on the quick mend for ulcers are so very painful! Bless his heart!! Give him lots of love so he knows you're not trying to hurt him but help him. Hugs to you both!! BTW, I have 10 cats and 4 dogs. One big happy family!! LOL

You really need to take him to the emergency vet and NOW! He's in so much pain that he needs help NOW not Monday but NOW! The emergency vet will pass on the information to your regular vet on Monday. Don't waste any time, call the emergency vet and let them know you're on your way so the veterinarian can meet you there.

Cats also get feline herpes. Two of mine have it. With medicine, it can go dormant but stress or a low immune system can cause an outbreak. It is contagious to cats through body fluids. My oldest got it from my youngest and my youngest and her entire litter had it when she was a kitten. It basically looks like sleepy bugs in their eyes and their eye might leak a little too. Because it is uncomfortable, the cat will squint a lot too. It took a long time but, I finally got it under control in my oldest. My youngest cat rarely has an outbreak. Usually only after we take her to the vet or have to board her when we go on vacation. The stress of it brings about and outbreak. Oddly enough, my middle cat has never caught it even though they all share the same food and water bowls and have been known to fight with one another. I hope your cat gets better soon!

Thank you for your concern, and sharing. Now my furry little girl won't eat, because she knows something is wrong with him. Read above.
