SM is one of the most well known and successful retail stores in the Philippines. Few months ago SM launched Green bag, but seems like nobody is using that despite of their offering double points for SM Advantage card members. That project was launched to reduce the use and consumption of plastic bags. Yesterday I went grocery and I was surprise because SM is not using paper bags in support for environmental programs. Now I know SM is really committed to protect our environment. As we all know, plastic contribute significantly to the problem of flooding. Millions of birds and mammals die also from indigesting it, for they sometimes mistakenly see plastics as food. Indeed we cannot deny that usefulness of plastics but it is also good to at least lessen our consumption of it. I am truly happy to this movement of SM.

Yes I agree. I hope this will be the start. And we too should contribute something in our own little ways. Change should be done now while there is still time. Thanks for sharing your views BART78! Have a nice day!

hey good on them for doing that. here in ontario (canada) they charge 5 cents per plastic bag which encourages one to bring their own bag (whether it be out of plastic (thicker that you can reuse over and over) or canvas.

Paying 5 cents per plastic bags? Oh that is a good and simplest way of discouraging others from using plastic bags. It is an additional cost, I myself would rather bring my own bag. It is nice to hear from you cher913! Have a nice worry free day!
