Hi Mylotters, I am a vegetarian, and I am proud to be one.... because I always seem to be the odd one out (at my work place) whenever there is talk about going out to eat or ordering lunch or even during parties..... Some people tease me saying there is some grass on the ground maybe you can try that... but I dont care.... I like to be a vegetarian.... I am not against those who eat non-veg but since Iam born vegetarian I dont want to change the habit..... So dear mylotters are you veg or non-veg.... or have you started being a veg or non-veg.... share your thoughts.....thanks

i am actually a non-veg... i don't think i can live without meat as i like chicken, pork and seafood a lot... i'm not really a beef person and i try not to eat too much red meat as i know that it is not good for health... but i really respect veg people and never look down or say anything to offend them at all... take care and have a nice day...

so i myself could never become a vegitaian because im addicted to the rare steak (sorry if thats creepy or makes your tummy heave) but i do have much respect for all you veges out there and i have a few veg best friends. the wierd thing is my veg friends are all a bit nuts but i only think one of them is nuts because of her diet its pretty non diverse (cheese and potatoes with maybe a bit o microwaved stuff in there). im afraid its affecting her mind a bit. i do have one small other comment to say about someones comment on how they caw a poster that said monkies are vegitarians but thats not entirely true most primates are omnivores including unless by thierown choice humans. some of them also have extremely violent natures like babboons.

Vegetarian diet can also be unhealthy if you take too much of potatoes or ghee or cheese, all the vegetarians are not slim and trim it also depends how balanced is your diet be it veg food or non-veg food....

I'm a non-veg but i really want to be a vegetarian because I feel like I'm unhealthy. I always try to eat vegetables but I can't. I don't like its taste though I really want to learn how to eat it. I wish I could learn how to eat them so that I'll be healthy.

Hi kkanaka: I'm a non veg but i really admire your way of life. I have tried a lot to be vegetarian but it seems difficult to me to leave meat at all. I have proved tofu and i found it delicious for a lunch but even with that my biggest temptation are hamburguers. Lol. XD. Anyway, you don't have to feel ashamed, your kind of life is more healthful and earth friendly that the rest of the world.

I'm a vegetarian too. Although I eat fish, so maybe that doesn't make me a proper vegetarian. It's mean that people tease you, but I have to admit that I did laugh about them telling you that you can eat the grass! (sorry!) It's interesting that you've been a vegetarian all your life, I stopped eating meat when I was 18, I didn't eat fish then either, but later on I found the smell of the McDonald's filet o' fish too difficult to resist so I started to eat fish again. Sad eh?!! It's good that you have a vegetarian diet and wouldn't think about changing this. You must be happy with your diet.

Hello kkanaka, I am not a vegetarian but I understand what you mean. My mom is a vegetarian too, and she receive those remarks too. It is health to be a vegetarian. Me myself, I am trying to eat more veggies than meat, but since my husband is not much of a veggie eater I have no choice but to cook meat most of the time. take care and happy mylotting -- red_amethyst

I dont say anything to non-veg eating people but if they tease me I talk back to them, then they have to keep quiet, or they dont argue with me next time.

In India there are many people who are vegetarian. Most of them are vegetarian because they follow their religion. In religion it is assumed good to be a vegetarian. So its not odd or strange to be a vegetarian in India. There are also strictly vegetarian restaurants in India.

Hey! What a coincidence that this happens to be the first discussion that I've laid my eyes on today. I am DEFINITELY a vegetariiand PROUD of it! I've always been the odd one out, too, as far as what I eat..But I don't care at all! It's definitely worth it and I LOVE being a vegetarian, I couldn't imagine life eating meat. Ok, I first became a vegetarian when I was 12 (and I'm 19 now), so I haven't eaten meat in SEVEN years. I love that. What about you? How long have you been vegetarian for? One interesting thing is that it hasn't been a struggle at ALL. ALWAYS people ask me: "Don't you miss the taste of meat?" and "How did you give it up?" but for me, it was natural. Only occasionally did I usually crave something animal-derived, and I just ignored those cravings until they went away - and started craving other things - like broccoli and cheese. Or black beans. I have weird cravings now, but it's a good thing. Have you ever thought about becoming a vegan? Or is that too much for you? Anyway, I'd love to discuss with you! It's cool to know there are other vegs around MyLot here.

Hi maezee, Nice to talk to you..... I am a born vegetarian... you are doing great... I dont know if I would be able to be converted into a vegetarian if I used to eat meat before... but you are really marvelous.... I dont have any thoughts of becoming a vegan because as I said I am a vegetarian by birth and have never tried to eat meat.... but I drink milk and have cakes which has egg in it... but I dont take egg separately.... so its not religious or anything... its just that we dont eat non-veg.... nice meeting you.....

Thanks! That's really cool that you were raised a vegetarian. I wish my parents were more accepting of vegetarianism, but they really aren't. That's OK though, because I don't need a fan club for what I do and my choices. But it must be nice to have that kind of support and encouragement in your life!

hello :) first of all id like to say i respect you my Good unknown Friend, i try and think about what i am actually eating then i realize it was once alive, same as we Humans, but then i sorta feel bad, but then in my mind i go by Survival of the Fittest i guess, we dominate we eat you..that sounds like something a person who loves meat would say..lol right? well i eat meat i really like it, but i have been trying to cut back and find other kind of source of food when i think about it there is A LOT of kind of food that dont require any animals to be killed off so i can eat, i have been thinking about staying OFF meat for a while and seeing how i handle it and seeing what it does to my body, i eat meat, but i have been thinking of becoming a Non Meat Eater guy :)

yes I am a vegetarian, being one sometimes is problem specially when going out with friends, relatives or jjust to anyone who is a non- veg because it brings confusement or arguments on where to eat, so most of the time I tend to eat less since there are few selection in the menu that I like.

I'm also a vegetarian but I'm does not hate any non-vegetarian because if they not eat got and chickens then all eat our food because there are over population. Because we does't kill them to eat. Both vegetarian and non vegetarian is necessary for balance our food system.
