Trees are very important for us. They gives off oxygen which we need to breathe. They takes in carbon dioxide which we we give off. They protect us from floods. They bear fruits for us to eat. Please help save our trees. Save papers. Recycle them. Be an agent of the environment. We should act now before it's too late.

oh is good post. Hope many will listen and do act on saving the planet. What do you propose we use for stationary instead of paper? Any ideas?

Well for stationary I think there will be no better alternative for papers simply because of the fact that it's organic. It can decompose unlike plastics. What we must do is recycle our papers to prevent massive cutting down of trees every year. We should recycle papers. shadow41

Oh I know what you mean, but imagine if we could come up with an alternative to paper? and replace it with a new product for writing which would not require wood?

Oh yes. That would be awesome. But I can only come up with one idea that suits what you're talking about. Let's go digital! Right. Digital. Maybe scientist should focus on this matter. They should create a digital paper to replace traditional papers from trees that we're currently using right now. I know netbooks or laptops are already there. But they're way so expensive plus they're bulky and requires some skills like typing or even turning a computer on. Many people from third world countries don't even know how to turn a computer on. It's sad but it's the truth. Maybe a digital paper should appear like a real paper and could be used like a traditional paper but way improved than the latter. Maybe it should have a memory so that we can save and delete. Wow, that would be great. shadow41

ya.., my friend you are right. Trees are very important for us. Trees are our breathing partners. We may not live n a forest, but we need trees in order to live. People and animals depend on trees and plants for oxygen. As we breathe in, for oxygen. As we breathe in, it gives off carbon dioxide. Trees do just the opposite. They take in Carbon Dioxide and then release oxygen (which also helps clean the air). Trees also help cool the Earth. Trees give off moisture. More moisture in the air means more rain and all living things need water. Trees cool the air by shading and through water evaporation. They act like huge pumps to cycle water up from the soil back into the air. The 200,000 leaves on a healthy 100 foot tree can take 11,000 gallons of water from the soil and breathe it into the air in a single growing season. Trees are also very important for us as a renewable resource. Trees are a natural resource that can be renewed - by the planting of trees - replacing the trees that are harvested for use by people. We depend on forest products for things like the wood we burn for heat and the wood we use to make houses and furniture. We use trees for the paper to make books and letters we write. Actually, there are more than 5,000 things made from trees. Trees give us baseball bats, shoe polish, and even tooth paste that comes from tree extracts. So, trees give us so much, we have to do some thing to save trees. If we save them, we will save our environment. So you can help the world by planting a tree.

Wow. I couldn't say more to what you said. Nothing to add up. It's so complete. You really put an effort in responding to this discussion. Thank you so much. I'm glad to have you here joining my mission in saving trees. And oh by the way, I already planted lots of tress in our farm and I'm still planting more. I won't stop til our farm is filled with trees. Haha. shadow41

Hello shadow. It is a nice topic. I appreciate your being so friendly to protecting our environment without damaging our green trees that help save and protect us in so many ways. I feel ashamed for those who cut down trees for their profits without taking into consideration our environment while they are doing so. Well, I usually keep the used paper(s) I use and when there is enough, I will sell it to the paper-recycling place for some small money. It helps recycling the used paper.

Hello there. I'm really trying to protect trees because I know how important trees are to us. In fact I planted lots of trees in our farm when I was just a kid. Now they're all grown up big and tall. Some are quite huge. It's fun to watch them knowing I planted them. I'm glad you do recycle your paper. Keep it up. I just hope others will be as concern and responsible like you to our environment. Thanks for dropping by here. shadow41

Yes. Trees play a very important role in out planet but people are abusing it and because of this, we can now feel the effects of not caring for our mother Earth. A lot of different natural disasters occur and these disasters are X3 or more. Abnormal events take place now globally. We should act right now even in our simple ways because these simple ways when done by all people in the globe, this would really be a big help. :)

You're absolutely right. We have to stop global warming and saving our trees will play a very important role in preventing it. Every simple ways counts. Each of us counts. As Sir Gandhi said, "Be the change you want to see in the world". Thanks for listening to mother earths' call. :) shadow41

yes friend, Trees r also living beings, they play vital role in life cycle of nature, but humans are not recognizing it. so we r facing the concequences today. I fear for future generations. Let's support tree growth, let's oppose tree cut down. so that our next generation can enjoy the nature, atleast what we enjoy today.
