how can i partition my laptop in windows vista(dell laptop) with out formatting

i cant do partion to my lap other than given primary partition......please help me

If you are a Linux user just delete & re-create the partition using GParted, everything gets solved, unfortunately IF you are a windows user GParted is not available to Windows, so you could try some other softwares (idk names of any windows soft).

Yup, a program called partition magic is a tool for partition without going to dos prompt. Another thing you can consider is creating a virtual drive. I have one like this in my dell laptop. I create a virtual drive with a window xp Os. But consider you have a high memory to be able to handle the massive memory eaten by virtual drives. Hope it helps you.

You can easily do that. Use third party toll partition magic. Just remember that you should have high amount of power backup.

just type in cmd format: C C is your hardrive you can change it//

I think it is not only you but many who are using a Dell laptop are facing a similar problem. I read about this news in many forums. I think it is better you contact the customer support of Dell for further assistance.
