upline promises

Most upline promises are unreliable as politcians' promises. Yes, a good upline will provide training, have marketing systems and programs that you can be plugged into, help you present and close prospects and more. However, upline almost never build any real-size downline for you. The bottom line is, the only person you can rely on to build your direct sales/network marketing business is you. That does not mean that you can't believe anything that you are told. Just don't believe everything and think it through. Happy networking.

Never "close" a prospect. Always provide enough information, and the right information that they will close themselves for you. IF you close them, you will have to phone them up each week to re-close them to get them to do any work. I hear you about upline promises though. And yes the training should be in place, but also they should teach you, until you can do it yourself. It isn't about you going out to find 100 people to join under you. It is about you finding 4 or 5 that find 4 or 5.... Take your time with your prospects, chose carefully. My friend Michael, been in MLM since 1976 or so, he says never sign up anyone you wouldn't want to be on a month long cruise with. I think it is terrific advice. Build people, and people will build the business. Cheers
