Are you a health conscious person or an unconcerned person?

Dear friends, I am not concerned much on health. If there are small problems like cold, mild cough etc then I may try to treat myself by drinking ginger tea, taking steams etc. If I start the treatment in the beginning it will work otherwise it will end in worse condition. Sometime when I fall in sick I felt that I have to consult the doctor, in that case I won’t wait for self-treatment. What about you friends? Do you try to consult the doctor when the symptom starts or wait for sometime? Do you take self treatment?

I am a very health concious man SreeKala. But that doesn't mean that I am finicky about things and torture the other people in my home for the sake of my health.I completely understand that the good health depends on our food and the habits.Good and bad.Our health can be kept at peak level with sensible balanced diet and regular exercises.

I am so health conscious and is trying to live a healthy life. I used to drink tea but now i need to lessen and hopeful stop taking any type of tea. I am diagnosed with reflux esophagitis and tea is a trigger for having a feeling of being choked. I do self-medication for cough and cold, headache, migrane and other minor illness where we can but medicines over the counter. With serious illnesses especially when fever is on and off for almost three days i consult a doctor for proper medication and treatment. Stay healthy.

Hi msfransico, It is not a big issue to control the intake of tea and you can reduce the same and finally you can stop it. Self-medication is good for minor problems if the fever persists then there must be some problem and need further consultation. Stay healthy and happy.

Thanks for your advice and concern. I will be used to this soon. I am now on wheat grass and i am enjoying the feel of it. Hopefully wheat grass can do something about my acid reflux and even with my digestion problem.

I don’t go to the doctor unless the pain has been there a while and is not getting any better. I think that most of us know instinctively when something is not right with out bodies. I would rather see a doctor first before I attempt any other kind of treatment.

There is some problem in mylot and will be alright soon. I shocked to see the degradation but later found out it happened with all members. I checked with one friend he told me earlier too same thing happened and later resolved by mylot itself.

I have never seen any doctor for the past 10 years. I hate to go to a hospital.I don't like allopathy medicines. In case of illness I resort to self medication and it has been proved to be a success in all these ten years.Try to consume less medicines, the more less you consume the more better your end days will be.The medicines diminish your natural immunity to diseases and make you look old prematurely. The premature greying of hair, wrinkles on skin among the youth are due to the consumeristic approach towards medicines. Most of the illness can be cured by proper management of the diet and regular exercises. The tendency of the modern fast world that takes them to the doctor in case of a simple sneeze should be changed. As you said cure at the earliest or prevention itself is better.Prays sreekala lives long

Hi Cosmo, I entirely agree with you. I too hate to visit a doctor except in winter. In winter I often fall into sick and I can't wait and I prefer to consult a doctor in the beginning itself. As you now that I have small kids and I have to take care of them, if I fall in sick then my entire family may suffer. Thank you very much for the wonderful views. Have a great year.

Hi coolcat, I think it is difficult keep the weight under control when you like to eat more. Do regular exercise to shed the over weight and avoid fats as much as possible. If you can physically active then it may help in a great way. Please enjoy whatever you like to eat and spend some time for exercise (on regular basis). Thanks for sharing and joining. Have a great year.

hello sreekala! well, i am not that health conscious but i give importance to our health...coz i believe in the saying that health is wealth! but, whenever i got colds or flu, i also do self treatment...hehe coz i think more than anyone else, its me who knows my body, and so far, i am always successful in treating myself! haha but there's this one time, that i really feel bad and and get worried as well, coz i feel that the medicines i am taking is not working good on me and my cough didn't stop for more than 2 weeks and so, i just go to the doctor to know what's happening! hehe and also because my husband forced me to go to the doctor! well, i just get some examinations and she gave me some medicines and everything turns good! hehe and the doctor just laugh on me saying that i worry too much when my body don't looks like being sick! huh! good day friend! & happy new year!

Hi Ckyera, I think winter is going on there too and in winter if we caught with cough it will be very difficult to cure. I have bad experience with the same so I can understand your feelings. I too prefer to consult a doctor in the beginning if there is winter. Otherwise I can take some ayurvedic medicine and I will be alright with that. Thanks for sharing your views dear, take care because your family’s health is on your hand. Thank you very much for your nice wishes. Have a wonderful year ahead.

personally, i do not get sick often, and i am very grateful for that. IT could be because of numerous things like me being a bit more health-conscious than most people in our household. Like i watch what i eat, and right now, since i have been "abusing" my body from eating fatty foods (which i usually do not really partake), i decided to take oatmeal for my breakfast, since oats have been known to take out the cholesterol in the body. In addition, i have regular exercise (basketball at least thrice a week) and not just normal playing, but really training and real games. Not to mention that i get value my sleep more than anything else. And if ever i get hit by a sickness, it depends on what i feel. Usually, i just let my body heal itself since a regular cold and cough can be treated with drinking water and getting enough rest, and of course, little or no stress. Then, i do not know how to explain, but i can sense and feel if it can or will get any worse, then that is the time i drink medications, generic ones. but if it worsen or i haven't felt like that before, for example a high fever then getting dizzy often times, that's when i consult our family doctor. It helps too if you have one, since he can have a background on what possible sickness you are getting at because of your family's history.

I understand what you meant by sense of feeling about your health. If the problem is serious your body may give signals to you. Take care. Stay healthy and happy.

I am very particular about my health. I prefer to nip any ailment in the bud. Being a homoepathic fad I have a whole lot of medicines that I keep in stock. I have books on homoeopathy and I also log on to the Net for more info. I believe in holistic approach to healthy living which includes, exercises, proper food, good sleep, pleasant activities. I am also a Reiki channel which keeps me in good spirits.

For me maintaining good health is a challenge and challenges are what I live on! I was overweight and was hell bent on getting it to normal. I had a bit of a cholesterol problem and that too is under control. Good health is far better than owning bungalows, half a dozen cars and what have you!!!!

Hi allknowing, You were overweight, what about now, are you in the normal weight. I know it is very difficult to manage the overweight. Some people are complaining that they can’t eat anything just because of overweight; one lady told me if she drinks more water then also she becomes fatter. She is on diet and taking tablets for reducing the weight. Take care, stay healthy and happy.

I lost 11 kgs in about a year after I decided to skip my night meal which actually is the main cause for anyone putting on weight as that food gets converted into calories as we do not exercise. Atleast it worked with me. I have a snack around 4, and in the night I have a soup and some hot milk.

Nice to know that, your weight reduced much. You are right, the food in the night may be making problems. Eating food early and giving enough time to digest it properly, before sleep, is a good method to avoid the fatty process. Please follow the same method which yields good results to you.

Hi, Sreekala My dad is a doctor, so I don't worry about the illness. If the weather turn bad or the tempreture drops suddenly, he used to tell me to take care of myself. As I see it, I think health is very important and we shall form regularly daily habits to keep fit. IF you don't feel good, consult a doctor as soon as quickly.

I wouldn't consider myself unconcerned, but I don't take a pill every time I have an ache, and I don't see doctors for every sniffle. Like you, if I have a sore throat or cold, I'll drink some tea or juice. I won't see a doctor, unless it won't go away for weeks. I don't trust doctors, anyway.

Hi Sreekala, I try to take care of myself as naturally as posible. I VERY seldom go to a doctor. If I do, it's just to find out what I don't have and then I take care of my problem using alternative methods. I go to message therapy regularly as I strongly believe that doing that removes harmful toxins from the body and helps avoid illness. I also try to eat right (though sometimes that doesn't happen) but I try to remain balanced in everything. Something else that I do is regular excercise.

Yep, sometimes I am concerned about my health. Sometimes not so much. It's hard to find a doctor who doesn't shove pills in your face so if I catch something early enough then I will take care of it myself. My favorite for a sore throat is honey, tea, leamon juice. I've heard that many include a shot of whiskey but I don't include that. If there is phlem in the throat I will cough it up and be over with it. If not, it sooths the throat a lot.

i have no consciousness of my health before.some day i found many problems attacked my health.so i begin to take care of my body.eat formally, because i always want to keep slim ,so eat less.at that time when i am ill,i went to the hospital to get much advice from doctors. to your question,i think if you just get common aches, you can have rest and drink water etc..but if you know you have no idea of your illness, you must go to see the doctor as soon as possible, because many illness usually come from the unconcern at the beginning. you know yourself clearly,so you make the choice by yourself. best wishes! keep you and your family good health!

I am a bit health conscious. I watch out what I eat. But when it comes to some health disorder like having cough or cold I just let it. hahaha. I'll take some rest and try home medication like drinking juice and cough syrup. I am a bit awful going to a doctor or in a hospital. I feel that I am just going to sick totally when I smell the hospital surroundings. It's good because my body get heal easily. :)

Hi maricari, Good to know that you are health conscious. So the smell of hospital make you sick, yeah some time the medicines smell is not tolerable. Common cough or cold may cure by some home remedies but the cough stay long time, then we need treatment. In winter, if I caught with cough then I need treatment. Thanks for joining. Have a great year.
