Have you changed with myLot?

Please pardon the cheesy subject, but I am discussing something really important here. I have been a myLot member for about 3 years now and today when I was going through all my started discussions, I found something really interesting. In the beginning, I behaved like an idiot (remarked as n00b in Internet language). I was uploading copyrighted images and starting useless and senseless discussions, just for money. Some of them were as cheesy as "which juice do you like to drink" or "which books do you read". In my second year, I made some friends here at myLot, money lost it's importance and I behaved more socially. I now asked questions that I thought other people might find interesting, and didn't care even if they went overboard. Also I began using myLot as my personal diary, sharing my day's experience and knowing what people think about them. In the 3rd year, I was out of time and too busy to participate in the community, but I still managed to post once in a while. I found myself posting questions that are in one way or the other for a good cause or simply thought provoking. So my point is that with I have grown with myLot and become more mature and more in sync with he community. Have you also changed with mylot?

You have been member for 3 years and just 631 posts? Well it can happen but still looks awkward. Anyway, the only thing that Mylot has helped me in changing till now is my typing speed. I can type really fast now, something I could not accomplish even after chatting on the internet for hours at a stretch. It has improved my English vocabulary and of course Mylot increases my bank balance. So basically, my life has indeed changed a lot.

Thanks for your kind words. Actually I am not a very heavy myLotter, and being a student, there are a lot of things that distract me from mylot. That's why I have just 630 posts. Regards, AJ-Rox

Personally I think we all change here in myLot over time. Most people when they come in here as a New member they are coming in here with just the hopes of earning some Extra $$, but not sure how to do it, so they come in here posting quick one liners, and asking sometimes off the wall short quick questions or ones against the TOS and then either learn what this site is about and improve from there or leave. But personally I think any member who continues in here and enjoys being a member here over time will learn ways to improve themselves and their lives in here. Where else can you make so many wonderful friends and learn about things in your life the way you can here? I think we all become better people because of being here for sure.

When I first joined mylot, I wanted to earn a bit of pocket money. As time went on, I found that mylot was more than a place to earn money. It is a place where you can socialise on the internet with many other people from different cultures. I have wonderful friends on here and the support that I have been given over the time has been fantastic. I feel like I am at home here on mylot.

I saw your topic and i found myself smiling...hihi.. Good for you! I never thought you spent 3 years in here huh!.... Anyway, I've joined mylot two months ago and i have never been so hooked up with any site like this for so long. (mylot admin, will find us weird by saying this..haha) But it accidentally improves my personality, I happen to be so insensitive with people's feelings that sometimes i don't care what they are talking about. But I learnt how important to listen, I mean by reading every insights in here...knowing people with different views in every matter makes me become more open minded. Its kinda weird but it makes me a better person. But I think it is always how a person take new things that comes in his life. Like here in mylot, I took it positively without any expectation what so ever... now here I am, i have improved some of my character by simply participating in discussion. Its really cool!..

The moment I learned about mylot which was a month ago, it made me ditch facebook right away. Facebook was the site during that time that i frequented a lot and I really felt guilty. Thank goodness I stumbled upon MyLot and it changed my internet life and my daily life as well. It's really nice to know that i am spending my precious time to something very useful, educational and fun. Best of all, I get to be paid for doing all the stuff I enjoy..Now how cool is that?

hi I have been here for several years too. I have looked at some of my first discussions and wished I could have them deleted. I 'have matured since then, not in age, but in making better discussions and responding and commenting better too. I think as you stay on here you learn more and more about what goes over well and what is cheesy as you put it. So yes I have changed also as I stayed here with mylot.then to the happenings in my life the past 11 months have shown me a better view of mylot. In my troubles mylot friends were really worried about me, and when I returned I was in tears over the kind messages from some of them. I had made some real friends here and am proud to know all my friends through mylotting.

I would say yes but unlike you it didn't take me years to realize this because I met wonderful people that have inspired me. I say I'm really happy because even though the discussions I make doesn't get much respondents because some of it requires some thinking. I managed to engaged a wonderful and healthy discussion with every responder.
