Would you go abroad or stay to get a stable job?

My dear Pinoys, most of our fellowmane would go abroad to find a stable and more high paying job. Some believe that we cant get enough success if we stay in our own country and going abroad is the fulfill your dreams. I myself, if given a chance would love to go abroad. But going there you also need a lot of funding or money first too. Its okay for me to stay and work here but going abroad in the long run can be a better help. What is your say on this?

I really prefer to stay here in the Philippines. I love my country despite despite. I dont like moving far from family. I have learned a lot of OFW stories; most of them do end up having a consistently fat wallet but their hearts are broken with sadness. My feelings mean much more to me than money. I knew the OFWs feel the same. I knew they all wanted to stay if it werent for poverty here and corruption here.

yes you are right. You really have to give credit who works painstakingly abroad. It is terrible work and great expectations outside of the country, it is not only heartaches that they have to put up with. and the competition is a lot harder outside. Kudos to OFWs! They really are heroes to both country and family!

oh thats true! Homesickness is scary, being away from your family. But sometimes we have to sacrifice to be able to support your family. I still admire those who go abroad because they can endure all that for the sake of giving their families a better life.

When I graduated from my engineering course, finding a job here in the Phils is very easy actually. I get hired just one month after my graduation. I have applied and submit resume more than 30 companies though. The first job paid only the minimum salary, but as I stayed longer, my salary eventually gets higher. And then, after I got all the experience I need, finding a more profitable job is very easy. I can now demand a higher salary. Going abroad actually is not the best option at all times, if only we Filipinos make extra effort of finding jobs suitable for our course.

definitely yes, have tried to apply for jobs abroad now and then just to check how well did my experience had led me so far. Most company offered a bigger compensation and the package are great (direct hiring, no fees, all expense paid, with free board and loading, etc). But still I would prefer to stay here and be with my family. Very contended and hoping that other Pinoys would do the same.

I have a pretty much stable job here in the Philippines. But I also have plans of working outside the country. I think it's easier to earn money abroad but it also entails a lot of hard work.

Easy? You think its easier to work abroad than in your home town. The only reason why people go outside PH territory because the country dont have opportunities to offer its people that's why people went to other place to seek work. They just don't go there to earn big money, its because the main reason to go there is to look for money, even its a small amount or a big amount money is needed to live. Pinoy only think money is easier to earn outside PH is because of the money value. If I only have a stable work on the PH i rather stay in my home town rather than pursue a career outside PH. PH is suck to live if you don't have enough money for a living. Unluck here were i stay for a while, even if you don't have a work you still eat 3 times a day with the support of the government. I have a friend who is a tricycle driver on PH. He use to earn 80php a day staying on the road all day. I ask him if he still want to stay PH earning a small amount of money not enough to feed everyone of his family or stay here in the place were he earn enough money to live and buy things he can never buy when driving a tricycle. For me i guess i'll be back to my home country after i earn enough money to live in a poor place and create a business. After i establish my life, i can now say its better to live to PH rather than work outside the country.

any work, entails a lot of hardwork. Wherever it maybe. I think easy is n0t the right term but a bigger chance of earning a lot abroad, yeah because of the m0ney value. If i have saved en0ugh after working abroad, i will still want to go back and build my own business.

i think iamnumbled meant easy to save money abroad as they give higher pay those those here in the Philippines. Talented Filipinos are being brain drained and they are all moving out of the country as they are seeking for higher compensation and benefits.

6 years ago... i left a stable job because an opportunity to work abroad without shedding any money came... i immediately grabbed it because i know that will never come again... but when my contract ended after 2 years... i decided not to go back because i wanted to have a baby since i am not getting any youner... i sacrificed a high paying job for my family and i never regretted that... Right now, i have a great job which others dream of having... and my husband is the one working abroad...

That is so true... i was able to save a lot of money... more than what i earned during my 7 years of working as a teacher... but sad to say that the money is all gone... but it it is also good that i was able to buy a piece of lot... but it doesn't have a house yet... hopefully in the near future... we will be able to save up for that...

good that it worked out well and you chose to have a baby. Well 2 years is a sh0rt time to earn a lot but at least it can help. 2 years here and 2 years abroad has a big difference in terms of earning m0ney.

Going abroad is the farthest thing in my mind. I salute those who are able to adjust easily in other countries, They may have bigger salaries compared to those working inside the country but for me personally the amount of money is not enough to compensate the loneliness and the stress that goes with it. Cheers!

n0thing really compares to what they go through for those who work abroad. Its really a great sacrifice leaving your family behind but in turn putting a lot of inc0me to be able to fulfill their needs.

I can't even stand a day without my family.I'm definitely not going abroad.I am currently working in a call center. The pay is good.I think the call center industry is one of the industries right now that one has to consider. It offers a great pay without going out of the country.

I am planning to work in abroad, hopefully next year. If I have given a chance to. It is true that it needs a lot of funding of money. You cannot pursue your dreams if you don't have it. It is because working abroad like in London, the place I wanted to work. The place I dream of and the place where my boyfriend lives. I really planning so well and making steps to pursue my dreams in coming there as soon as possible. Working in London, you are compensated well with your abilities and capabilities. And they have the best benefits especially there health benefits. You are treated so well. There is none of these in the Philippines. Government Hospital here, If the know you don't have money or directly say you are poor, they will never entertain you. Unless you have the deposit or money to show. Then, that's the time they will cater you. It a systems that never cares on their people medically. But in London, if they don't know your status, they will treat you. They will that good care of you and your family medically. They are the one providing hospitalization and medicines. They will directly accommodate you in the hospital. There are lot of difference of working abroad then here in the Philippines. It is so sad to say but it is the reality. We never moving up yet. Because there are lot of Pinoy work abroad able to survive. My dad is a Seaman for a long time. If he is not working in abroad, we cannot be put in a good school and able to earn a Bachelors Degree. But luckily, our dad work so hard for us. To have a better future ahead of us.

sad to say but you are right. We still dont have better hospital facilities and n0t everyone can afford it which is so unfair. Thats a great system they have in London. We should be adapting to those kinds of facilities.
