Have you recorded any error messages? Some computer problems are best solved based on the error messages displayed during the event.

I am really fed up with all this and i have got compaq laptop. What i am planning to do is i am going to reformat this laptop in hope that it might correct this problem.. but i would loose tons of data if i do so i dont know if i should do it.

Nope, I know now the problem and would not recommend to reformat your laptop. The problem is the over use of the cpu. I seen it everytime i start game. It consumed alot of memory then it runs dry after running for a couple of minutes. Better only use your pc on a lightly basis.

Is there anything in the Event Viewer after rebooting the laptop?

I also had this issue with my dell laptop. As the other mylotter response my first guess is cooling. Use of graphic make them heat up ALOT faster. My laptop never had an issue with shutting down like this , only when on online virtual world type game heavy graphics use. I purchsed a cooling matt for it and it solved the problem. If it is the games causing an issue sometimes you can go into the games menu and choose to play it at a lower graphics setting. The game dont look as neat but will save alittle on the over heating of the laptop maybe. Just a couple tips. Oh btw the cooling matts run around $30 for a decent one. Look them up online and compare reviews of them before you purchse so you know its a good one.

You think i need to change the cooling matt. Yup, every online games i play shutdown my computer automatically. I'll try your solution lowering the settings.
