Why in the name of all that's holy would you do this to a dog?

My friend's husband farts a lot! Not just a few explosions through the day, but enough to supply a car with fuel for a week. That's a problem in itself, but that isn't what is bothering me.
The man thinks it's hysterical to fart right in the dog's nose. He will grab her head and shove it right at his blow hole and let it rip. Now I have done a lot of reading and part of the function of flatulence is to rid the body of bacteria and germs that aren't good for us. If the results of our flatulence is bad, why is he passing it on to the dog he rescued. His wife's dog takes a very dim view of the action and has bitten him in the butt many times, which makes the guy angry.
Dogs are a gift. They are loyal, protective, loving and don't care if you are handsome, beautiful or ugly. They love without reservation. We teach them to trust us and obey us. So why would you be so horrible as to torture a entity that is loving and trusting? As my friend stated in a recent email...she is tired of the house smelling like a toilet from the mans farting, the house stinks and she gags when she gets home from school. She has to open all the windows and doors to air the place out so she can stand to be inside. So, how come this man thinks it is so funny to abuse the dog in this way?

Oh Man! That is just twisted! I know of several guys that have done
that very thing in the past; Why is it they seem to think that what they
are doing is so cool??? Its friggin Awful and well disgusting!!
If I was the dog I'd bite his big old butt too and More (EG)!!!

Actually believe it or not dogs love the smell of farts and other putrid smells of the sort as do cats.
I no it's kind of strange but it's true so in no way would that be considered animal cruelty infact to a dog farts smell like cooking roast chicken or other food we enjoy to eat smell.
Have you never seen a dog sniff another dogs butt if you did has the dog ever complained??
True its not exactly a very higenic thing to do but for all do its all fun and games it's the wife I'm more worried about unfortunately humans (mostly females) hate farting in my opinion nothing is funnier than a loud stinky fart lol :D

I honestly think someone should grab him by the ears and Fart in his face. Everytime someone needs to fart. That is such a mean thing to do to a dog.I hate it when someone does mean things to a dog like that.

Yeah! What goes around comes around! I think his wife should get some of the dog's poop and put it in his pillowcase. Lol. Teach him. That's just ignorant and disgusting...

well.. shame on your friend's husband.. what is he thinking.. it is true that every human being is farting.. but everyone should keep it as a secret and try to be decent or polite .. the fating to a dog's nose is real animal crulty.. i think there are organixations who speaks about the animal crulty will be interested in this case..

I told my friend that I would report him to the humane society. She is in total agreement (there is major marital problems there...not just from the hideous farts!) I could see the headlines though "Man arrested for animal cruelty, from farting in a dog's face".
I have reached the end of my rope with the man, he is sub human for a lot of the stuff he has pulled, not only on the dogs but on his wife. She would be very happy to see him hauled in for animal cruelty, in fact right now I have her dog living with me because of his abusing the dog. We're not positive the degree of abuse, but the signs of the abuse are there.

I don't know. But men apparently think this is funny. My roommate has done this to my dog a few times as well. Why? I could not tell you -they have a warped sense of humor. I don't see the funny in it.
And I am not sure I want to get in a guys head to try and figure it out anyway.. sounds like a twisted place to be.

I agree with you about not wanting to get into a guys head...except for my BF, his head isn't twisted; he's extremely sweet, kind and loving.
One thing that I remembered about the situation is that the dog got really pissed at the man and she jumped up on the bed while he was sleeping, planted her fanny right by his nose and let it rip!!! The first time he came flying out of bed gagging and had to race to the bathroom to throw up! 
The second time he had farted in her face and when he laid down on the floor she came over, sat on his face and let rip with a huge noxious fart! I know the smell of the dogs farts as I had her stay with me for awhile and she can let rip with some pretty nasty farts.
Each time he didn't think it was funny; while his wife and I laughed until we cried over what happened. (The first time she told me about- I don't live too close to them) I would love to have the dogs stand up for themselves and take revenge. It isn't funny, it isn't kind, it's darned stupid.

THIS ISN'T FUNNY, he shouldn't even own or have a pet near him. Would you think it funny if he did this to one of your kids or his kids or any human being. This is animal cruelty period, abuse...Would u like it if this a@#$ole didit to your friend or u??????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I think he's being juvenile, like Homer Simpson and Peter from Family Guy. You just want to slap them silly, but they are already there - too bad you can't slap them smart...
She needs to consider changing his diet and maybe putting some Beano in his food

Their is something obviously wrong with this man. I find it wierd that he actually farts that much everyday, and then he goes and makes hs dog smell it? why is your husband even friends with this guy. You are completely right, a dog is a gift that shouls be loved and cherished. If the whole house smells like that every day i think that h should be told to see a doctor. Im so idsgusting by this i would confront him about the dog issue. If he is an ignorant kind of man (which he sounds like) then instead of confronting hmi and making him angry just trying to talk to him and reason with him a little bit may make him see the light, especially if he sees how concerned you are.
