I think most of us lost are wallet, maybe because it was stolen or misplaced. Just curious if what was the largest amount of money did you lost with it? I think mine is about P100, which is equal to $2, lol. I was young back then, and now I'm not planning to loose one wallet again, even though theres no money on it, I loved the pictures and other important things on it. What's your story?

that is why i am not using a wallet. i have not lose any wallet in my life cause i had not used one before till now. LOL. anyways, i think it is not safe to put all the money in a wallet or those cards in our wallets cause it is easy for snatcher to pick it up.

I know someone who doesn't used his wallet to put money on there. Instead he uses it to disappoint those snatchers and those who pickpockets. I told him your wasting wallets but he told me that he enjoys it. I wished I could just given those wallet to someone who needed it. LOL

LOL. I really don't understand how you'll enjoy that, but I think your imagining how disappointed the snatcher or those who pickpockets when they realized that it doesn't have any money. Oh by the way, when you planning to do that you should put a note inside the wallet, a message that will make him mad. LOL

I lost my wallet twice... actually thrice. The first time I lost it was when I was in high school... too bad I have money in it. I forgot how much but it is more tha 500, big money for my age that time. Really upset and there is my baby picture that I like most . The second time I lost it, somebody called me and told me that he got my wallet. I was already working that time. I was really thankful. The third time... I think somebody stole it. Worst all my four credit cards were there. Aside from the P1,000.00 I also pay the replacement fee of my 3 credit cards. The other one I closed already to cut my expense...

No I am not. I just do know how to handle money wisely... I save. I never buy things that I don't need. Well I wish I am ...

I lost my wallet once or at least, so I thought. I was in school and when I went to get my wallet I couldn't find it anywhere. It was right after break time so I thought that someone in my classroom decided to steal my wallet and I started to have doubts about just anybody. Years and years after that I found out that my sister had stolen my wallet. We used to attend the same school and she needed money, so she sneaked into my classroom and stole my wallet, including 60.000 of the old liras (about $30 or so). I found my old wallet well-hidden inside a closet in my house.

Tsk. That made you disappointed to your sister right? Well, just tell her not to do that again, but I think she learned from her lesson. Hope it won't happen again.

Maybe you do not believe that I did not use the wallet to hold the money as I am so scared that everything(money, credit card, ID card or other important things) will be lost once the wallet was stolen. But it still happened to me that the cellphones have been stolen twice in the past years. Furtuately, I did not bring the money and card together with cellphone, only I got suffer on the cellphones. Cellphone can buy a new one easily, but once the ID card and all variety of cards are missing, it is quite a headache to re issue. Happy mylotting.

You have a point there. If all your important things like money, pictures, and different cards are in your wallet, all of them would be gone at the same time, and that would make us in trouble.

I accidentally lost my wallet when I was a 3rd year college and I was not able to keep it safe because I attend to a party and got drunk,I never mind about my wallet. After that night, when I check it,I lost my wallet and it is not there anymore. So, I ask my friends but they don't know about my wallet.I have money in there but the most important thing is my important papers.

Talk about drinking. I had a friend that got drunk, they stayed a little while at 7 eleven and guess what? He left his cellphone on the table. LOL

I have lost my wallet once. It fell off from my pocket and I didn't notice. My driver's license was there and Php1500. I think that's about $25-30. What's worse was that it wasn't mine. It was a friend's who wanted me to keep it 'safe' for her. It was her salary. I was so frustrated and scared at the same time. I didn't know how I was going to tell her about it.

Yup, I would be feeling the same thing. What did she said after you told her that you lost her wallet? I hoped she didn't got disappointed.

I don't remember ever losing a wallet... even when i was young... but i did forget it when i went to Manila... good thing i had a lot of lose change in the pocket of my bag... or else i wouldn't be able to pay for my bus fare... and that would be very embarassing...

I've lost mine together with the entire contents of my huge bag. It was snatched from me while I was walking around some neighborhood looking for an apartment. Needless to say, I never went back to that place or anywhere near it again. I think the money amounted to about $50 more or less. But I got a lot of things in that bag, the total value of which was way more than $50.

Yup, don't go back to that place. Most of the time snatchers have only a specific place to hunt, it's because that would be a favor for them to easily get away when they are familiar with the place. Also avoid dark places and even those crowded ones. Have a nice day. Happy mylotting.

Only once in my life I lost my money from my shirt pocket.I don't use a wallet and I was resting in a lodge with the doors open. And I was reading a book then and after sometime when I put on my shirts,I found that the amount in it was missing. So,Somebody should have taken it.I couldn't complain it as it was my negligence. It was 800 INR.This happened some ten years back.

We learn from our experiences, me too, the one that I lost was way back about 7 years. Now the problem is my money just disappears! And it's because of school activities and projects.

yeah, I experience it and how stupid i feel after those things happen to me. I accompany my sister, nieces to go to the civil registrar office to claim her baptismal authenticated certificate. Since their are many people on line, I decided not to go inside and prefer to sit on the stairs. So when a woman pass by me she say my wallet is on the floor. So, I am very thankful to her and I pick my wallet then I go out to buy something then I sit again on the stairs. When we left the places and already inside the vehicles and about to pay. I senses that my wallet is missing so I go back again to the places and fail to find it. Then, I just know maybe my wallet drop again on the floor as my pants pocket is so big that it slides again. I lost more than $20, I left with nothing but I still lucky I have companion if not I would really worry I could not even pay the fare.

I think we're very lucky to have friends that could help us in cases like that. My friends also borrow money to me when they are in a crisis, same thing goes to me.

I have never lost a wallet before. I remember how I used to carry my paper money and coins in my pocket. But then I realized the pocket got worn out and my coins starting dropping out. So now I carry a wallet with me. lol. The most I have lost was $5 dollar bill. I accidentally dropped it and didn't realize it until I got home. I don't carry huge amounts of money with me because I tend to drop stuff from my pockets.

Yup, a wallet should organized your money and not only that but some memorable pictures and if you have some credit, debit, or any kind of cards. I remember my father, he thought he threw a receipt on the road but he just realized that it was his paper money, it was about P3,000!

I lost also my wallet. it was stolen by a pickpocketers in CM Recto. I was freshman then and i was new in manila. I have a backpack. A man behind me told me that my wallet was snatched. When i saw my backpack, the zipper is opened. I was really upset because that was my savings for a few days. Luckily, i still have money inside my bag so i still went home. I was hesitant to tell it to my mother. Luckily again, they just arrived from Quiapo so I told them i lost my wallet. They just told me to be careful next time. CM Recto is full of snatchers and pickpocketers. We are all victims.

Well, no one could blame you at that, because if your new in Manila it's very common to be a victim by snatchers and those who pickpockets. At least you know now how to prevent that from happening.

Good for you, at least we know that there are still good people that would find someone just to give back a missing wallet. He/she should be our role model the next time we would be the one in the same scenario.

Ouch! Now that would be really an unforgettable experience. Yup, it's true, it's difficult to stay at a unfamiliar place or country, it's hard to think where exactly you could find a help and the worst is that the language used is not your expertise or not familiar with. But I think you learned a lot from that experience.

I remember losing my wallet once, with at least more than P200 (about $4) in it. Good thing I didn't have any of my important ID cards in it. I also remember losing money when I was much younger but not from my wallet though. It was straight from my pocket. I guess I was being too careless that time.

I've lost my wallet multiple times. But the good thing is usually I don't carry cash, so everytime it was lost or "stolen" there was only $2 or $3 in it. But my banks cards credit cards, and debit cards were in it. Thankfully they were all cancelled the day after losing it.
26 Oct 09
Fortunately I've never actually lost my wallet. I came close one day, apparently as I was leaving the store I wasn't too careful when sliding it into my back pocket and it fell on the ground, because just as I got to my car some guy comes running after me to return it. The amount of actual money lost would be the least of my concerns, I tend to not carry much cash on me anyway. What would really suck is having to cancel debit/credit cards and have them re-issued, having to get a new driver's license, plus all the other cards I carry in it (GNC card, Blockbuster card, etc). It would just be a hassle to have to replace all that stuff.
