Just now, I saw a discussion which was titled something like "Which is the best movie you have seen?" In the body of the discussion the member said that he wanted to watch some new movies. Now, another member responded and recommended a few movies, which are at least 3-4 years old. He said that those are the movies he loved and they are worth checking out. Don't you think members should read the discussion properly before responding? Do you read the whole discussion first before responding?

Hahaha. I think most of the members here that only wants to earn are just looking up for the title. They're not reading the full content. That's quite funny when someone answers a discussion without understand the whole point of it. It's embarrassing.. shadow41

Ahahaha. That's so funny. Wohoh. But most of those responders won't know they're wrong cause I guess they won't be coming back to comment again. They'll never know that they've been laugh at. :) shadow41

hi sagnik I did not answer that one as I have not seen all that many movies in the last year, life was too hectic and money too scarce. but In that instance it could be read a bit each way. I thought the discussion was a bit unclear and yes I read the whole thing too. I did not answer as I was unfamiliar with the very latest in movies. Also perhaps the responder might have thought some of those movies might have been reshown , that does happen at time specially in small towns around the US.

Sorry to site your example. I have been thinking about starting this discussion and then I read your response. So I thought of mentioning the discussion. I did not want to hurt you. Actually there are a lot of people who do not read the whole thing. I just did not know you were not among them. I can only hope that you will forgive me.

Yeah, I read first before i responses as if you read without full critical analysis your replies may betaken out of context. meaning it would be useless to responses if you just write with no sense and have no substance. You need to write like you are in front of the person asking you a question so have to reply what he is asking and not just reply without full understanding.

I think it can be a little subjective. I think sometimes people are interested in the discussion, perhaps at a different slope, though, and just want to offer their input, even if it is in a slightly different direction than the subject title. I would understand being upset if someone posted about a movie, and someone responded with something way off the topic, like, "lollipops are yummy." But posting about a movie, and getting a response in the neighborhood of, "I have a few movies I want to see,", is not too far from the context. Its annoying, but another pet peeve is when they are clearly not reading the posts; when a similar answer or correction is made, and they blatantly disregard it.

I think a lot of people lazily read it just skim through, an then a few don't grasp all the english an just see key words. I don't see much harm in it as long as they are not way off base.

Even though im just a newbie (lol) i also spot a lot of peoples responses who dont seem to quite fit what the person who made the discussion is actually talking about or asking. It;s kind of funny especially when they make it really long in an attempt to earn more, but in the end it doesnt actually make sense. I dont actually call people out though because it seems like it would be embarrasing. lol i read the discussion where you pointed out that the movies werent new ones.

yes, I read the entire discussion before forming my response. Personally though I avoid such discussions as the one you’ve mentioned. Ideally, this discussion cannot have any proper response…it can only have the name of the movie which I like the best. If the person has asked for recommendations of some other watchable movies, then of course I can elaborate.

I make it a point to read the topic carefully before I respond including the long ones. It's difficult to respond just by barely reading the topic title for many times they are misleading. Yes, I seen many responses that are way way off tangent and made me wonder that maybe the user did not read the discussion posted at all. I wonder too if answers like that will earn points LOL. Well, there are many kinds of users and several attitudes to mylotting. cheers!

This is a versatile site and like another member said they give us opportunity to start discussions related to them like this one.

Of course, we have to read and understand the body of the discussion before we give our response, our reactions. It is though stated in the guidelines to read the responses before giving out ours. Sometimes, there are members who are just making responses without reading the body and go directly to giving their response, some have their own reasons for doing that, i guess. With the example you have given, i don't see any wrong with giving a suggestion to watch old movies when the original posted asked for new, it's a suggestion, right? And one more thing, how can you judge the responder that he never read the body?

hi there Goku, First all, i'm happy to meet a Dragon Ball Z fan .. then, obviously i read the entire passage of the discussion, before posting to that, and i have noticed some people will read only the title and they do post some of the irrelevant answers, but that too accepted because they will show some relation when asked to.. but in my case, i always read the full discussion and i will try my level best to answer it relatively and positively ..

Of course I read the whole post first before responding because if I don't, I will not be able to make a good contribution to the discussion. Some people's replies are completely irrelevant to the discussion, but believe it or not, some of those people do read the whole post before responding. I don't know why they still make irrelevant answers.

Hello, I think the person who is starting the disscussion, should be clear as to what responce they are looking for, because I have came across a few disscussions that, may start off something like this, Do you drink water everyday? Then when you read the disscussion futher, I notice it ask somthing else totally different at the end, and I want to add this would be a very long post that I'm referring to, so I guess my question would be, is the responder wrong for , repsonding to the question they have at the top of their long story? I guess this will really give me somthing to think about, the next time I respond to a long disscussion that is typed out in this manner. Happy My Lotting!

If a discussion is longer than 6 lines long... I get bored adn stop reading it and either scan it and not bother with it... or stick to short sweet discussions like this one... People should read it all.. But posting them, people should stick to short n sweet posts... Can be same with responces... Some can be TOOOO long for people to be othered to read... And if you try to post as much as you can in a day so to make around $1 a day... Can be made hard with what people post.

Hi sagnik: that's a very funny story. Sometimes you just want to make an answer on mylot to get more and more earnings that you don't read what people are asking you. I take my time to read them-i'm being honest and off course i take my time to make my best answer on every discussion

I do respond to a discussion that isn't to long. If they are way to long, then I just either let it go, or not read all of it. I prefer short discusions, but not real short that it doesn't say to much and then those I can't always come up with a good response. I think there should be a happy medium, in other words not to long, but not to short. The ones that are way to long, I just get tired of reading them, so those I really don't take the time to read them, and then I will just move on to the next discussion. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

I noticed too that a lot of the members don't read the discussion and are just posting just for the sake of positng. But the ones who start discussions should also make an effort to stick to their title. Mylotters also like to respond to as many discussion as they can and it would be polite not to mislead people. It would also be easier for them to get responses.

Of course..The mylotters who respond to the discussion must read clearly and specifically the posted discussion before doing a response. She/he must be able to know what the mylotters wanted to ask for his/her discussion posted for the mylotters to respond.

Before I respond to a post, I read it completely. I do this to see if it's something I'm interested in, and so that I can understand what the post is about. I think its offensive to the person who did the posting because its lets them know that the respondent wasn't paying attention to the original posting. In a nutshell, if a posting is worth responding to then it worth reading in full.
