Recently the little mermaid girl was seen on Oprah and I was so inspired by the story because of her courage. The interview process was so cute. Her personality was shining. Am sad this afternoon to read a news article that she had passed away. My sympathy to her family and many friends. Did anyone else see this interview with Oprah and if so, what did you think of this truly amazing, little girl? http://news.aol.com/article/mermaid-girl-shiloh-pepin-dies/735060?icid=main|htmlws-main-n|dl1|link2|http%3A%2F%2Fnews.aol.com%2Farticle%2Fmermaid-girl-shiloh-pepin-dies%2F735060#

Mermaid Girl... - The mermaid girl was born with her legs webbed together giving her only one leg to work with. She never let this stop her from doing anything she wanted to do (except walking). She insisted on going to school so she could be like the other children. She had a very positive attitude.
She was one of the most positive people I had ever seen. I loved her laugh!!! I, too, was saddened to hear that she had passed!!!! The doctors had told her parents that she'd never live past 72 hours (3 days). They were blessed with a wonderful child for 10 years!!! Can you imagine the horrible things that were said & done to her in her short life??? She handled herself with style & grace. I don't know that I could have been that wise!!!

I could not have been that poised and mature at 10. She was an amazing little girl and will be sadly missed. Yes, kids can be mean and she probably heard it all. Thanks for responding.

Hey carol, I had read an article and had seen a video of this sweet little girl quite a few months ago on the Internet. She was a very happy outgoing child. She was talking to her Mom and was swimming in a pool with her instructor and saying how she was glad that she was The Little Mermaid Girl. She seemed very happy with her life. I know that the doctors never expected her to live as long as she did, and I am truly sad that she has passed away. My sympathies also go out to her family and her friends. She was quite a miraculous little girl. May she rest in peace. I know she will be missed by the many who knew her and loved her.

She was quite a child. Her personality was quite adult for a 10 yr. old. Am sure she is resting in peace and will be sadly missed. Thanks for responding.
