Surf or Saint Nic? Would you rather be on Internet or at Christmas party?

The internet has affected social relationships in positive and negative ways. Spend spend more time emailing, texting and blogging and lesstimetrying to get to know each other. At Christmastime this is very apparent.
The Internet helps breakdown barriors by allowing people to express themselves from their computer but without the touch and emotion of human interaction we are on the verge of becoming robots prisons in an interactive world where we forget how to live and how to love.
Internet Christmas makes it easier to buy presents and get them delivered. You dont have to deal with crowds and traffic and your selection is larger.Security online is getting better but its still not foolproof.
Between internet saving and free offers your dollar can be stretched much farther. But is it better for our society?

Hi sourceseeker,
I am off the Internet more as Christmas draws closer or at least I will be writing and not navigating too much as I prefer and enjoy the Christmas Season offline more than on. It´s okay to be on a couple of hours but nothing more.
To be in touch with other People I suppose for some people that is so and for others it may be the complete opposite.
Apart from that I would much rather shop offline and this Year more so than any other time it´s much more fun and you learn to get out of the House instead of looking at a Screen all day long. Afraid I don´t have much time on here anyway to do so.
Wishing you all a Happy Halloween wherever you are enjoy it.

As for me I would rather be on the internet than at a Christmas party. I spend a lot of time on the internet here on mylot and on myspace. I still sell on ebay, too. I also have some paid emails that I earn from. I love being with my family at Christmas and wouldn't change a thing. But, I also prefer the internet to the gatherings that I would be going to. That is just what works for me now, it might not work for you. Merry Christmas

Hiya sweetbabyjane,
Glad to hear that you earn on the Internet. If things work well for you that way that´s great.
On Christmas Day I might surf a bit but not the usual amount I put in sometimes I´m off here for a few Days and come back much better.
Have a great Christmas.

we might not like the way the internet is changing our lives but we cant stop technology. all we can do is control how we interact or rather how we let the internet affect our relationships with our loved ones. a family should choose to spend time going christmas shopping not because it is the simpler option but because it lets them spend time together. parents should limit the amount of time their kids spend online so that they don't loose the traditional human aspects of talking to someone in person.
