Recently, Microsoft lauched a new software windows 7 which they said solves all the problems of its predecessors. Has anyone tried it? How would you rate its performance?

Hello. I'm using windows 7 right now and I can say it's superior among all other windows operating systems I tried. I love the look of it. It's so clean and professional. And it's performance is way better that vista. Plus it has a great compatibility with older software that I was using in XP or even windows 98. It's great. I'll give it 10/10. shadow41

I haven't experienced this myself but I am really excited as I want to purchase this operating system and see what it's all about. I will be building a computer from scratch and then I will be installing windows 7 on this new machine. Microsoft are really smart with their ideas! They get you to keep on purchasing the next operating system and the next one and on and on and so forth! They certainly know how to make their money! In a year or perhaps two or three there will be another operating system coming out, maybe windows 8 or windows superior. Well, I have already visited the Microsoft site and I downloaded a free program called Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. I used this program to scan my current system to see if I could upgrade to Windows 7 and it seems that everything is fine except for my laser printer, I will have to update the driver on that. I really like this program and I would advise others to use this as well prior to upgrading to Windows 7. Andrew

Just make sure you have about 4gig RAM... I know it says 1 is the min but I find even with 3 it's a little sluggish. But it's still better than vista on 3gig

I have windows 7 home premium on my laptop... it's better than vista. I have Windows 7 Ultimate on one of my PCs & it's better than XP. I love it. Easier, smoother to install & just feels better to use than both. Vista was a mistake by microsoft...a HUGE mistake. Xp was a smaller mistake but better than vista. My laptop could not even have XP on it cause no drivers were avail for it. But with 7.... I didn't need to install 1 driver at all. Even the one upgrading from Xp needed no drivers. That's the way it SHOULD be... plus the added bonus of networking passwords make it better for me. Windows 7 is BRILLIANT. There is no other OS you should have. I was lucky. I got mine free. I got both free so I saved over $700. I had just bought a vista DVD :( I could have used it for a coaster or frisbee. I now have an instillation disc for every OS microsoft has made. All the way from 3.1 to Windows 7. Windows 7 is by far the best thing they have done.

well, i used windows7 for around 10 minutes because it was an advance copy from a supplier. anyways, i see that it is faster than vista and although i haven't tweaked with it or played games during its use, i believe it can live up to its reputation because even XP or vista has some lags or delays even when just navigating from application to application. Might be the speed or the memory that could affect the speed, but in my opinion, windows 7 is a good upgrade. well, maybe in the future. Because i still use XP and would want to keep on using it unless i bought a new laptop.

i've been using the windows 7 ultimate version. everything was good, there was a great improvement in terms of startup time, system loads about 10-15 seconds. the aero features was a great enhancement for its graphics. security features same with vista. load programs fast. over all its better than vista.

Hi, well I've used it weeks ago, but with a pc with low RAM, and I think it's awesome. I love it, but you must have a good computer, it's like Vista but without some bugs and without that questions that put vista everytime you want to do something. Is fast and I really didnt have any problem with it.
