The Body: Just what was your motivation?

Well done you got away with the perfect crime. Your victim has been disposed of in the method of your choice (for those who don't know the industrial meat grinder turning victim into kebabs was the winning method of body disposal). Detective Snoopy, whilst chasing baddies on a remote island somewhere, has been eaten by sharks, so there is no longer any suspicion of your involvement with the victim. You are free and clear, never to be apprehended for this murder of yours. But I'd like to know just what your motivation was? What made you committ murder most foul? You can tell me, my lips are sealed.

A sob escapes me...the Great Detective Snoopy is no longer with us but with the sharks on some remote island. Is the sob from sorrow...or relief. The fear of that horrible secret coming to light was too much, too soon...the mummified man attested to that fact. Was there any remorse in disposing of such an ill-mannered, secret-spilling individual, for a moment, the familiar guilt arose but quickly squashed. No one shall ever know that the kind gentle petite woman was also a serial killing mummifier of men. Every Halloween for the past 20 years, she has selected a "special" someone to mummify, this year, the man chose himself when he threatened to blackmail her! These mummified men of the past were selected to avenge her childhood trauma of not being chosen as having the best costume in grade school. She was, of course, a mummy and the male judges laughed at her. Well, the last laugh was on them....

Hi linama, please tell me I may shorten your name to that. You were simply asked to reveal your motive for one murder, secretly, yet you have now revealed yourself to be a rampant serial killer, with bodies disposed of on a regular Halloween basis. I could tell you were enjoying yourself too much when you were dealing with Snoopy but I never suspected how cunning you've been getting away with multiple murders for many decades. But blackmailers are a nasty breed and need a good sorting out so as long as you can prove that the other twenty were of the same nasty ilk then I'll never let on to the FBI.

hi Lina, you can't start developing multiple personalities now surely. You are the second serial killer now revealed by this thread you realise so I'm wondering what would happen if you were ever to meet, would you enjoy tea and cakes and discuss strategies or would you be so mortally jealous of the other that another body would have to disappear?

Yes, Thea, it's true I was enjoying myself but I needed to create sympathy for my pathological behavior. Severe childhood trauma (well, it was severe for my fragile, sensitive ego to be slighted at a Halloween contest!) Blackmailer's are a nasty breed and there are no evidence for the previous 20 bodies either...and of course I should have told you that I change my name and residence on a yearly basis to keep one step ahead of the FBI. Also, note the change from "me" to "she, her", definite possibilities for multiple personalities (I think they call it dissociative disorder) For the time being the name is Lina...but next year?

Hi sunny, I haven't seen you for a few days, hope all is well. Well you did only find the body originally but I think it was Holly who wanted to actually see it killed off so I obliged, but no persuasion at all here for you to do the desperate act of murder and a skull as a show piece has always been most excellent and much better than the whole skeleton I find.

Oh my, this gets more interesting by the minute.. Alright, let's play along.. I think it's all due to a troubled childhood, away from society and being a bit sadistic and psycho at the highest level..

Hi Zed, happy to see you still playing along. Now you've really suprised me with your particular motivation of being a sadistic psycho, as let's face it you were about the most reluctant killer of the lot. You didn't even want to do it in the first place and now it turns out that Snoopy really needed to lock you away when he had the chance.

It was that time of the month, they ate the last piece of chocolate, left my car with no gas to go get more, spent the last $20 at the casino, kicked the cat, yelled at the kids, refused to pooper scoop and hogged the newspaper. The last straw was leaving the toilet seat up in the middle of the night...

I know exactly what you mean there Cass - sorry Saundyl. It has the same effect on me when people call me Theo, which is patently a mans name. Strings of bodies everywhere if I'm out in a windbreaker and wooly hat.

I don't know about you, but my reason seems to be occurring all over the Internet... The people are always saying it, writing it on walls and stuff, but just a few actually do something about it. As you might of guessed by now (or not), my reason behind the murder was to bring an homage to Michael Jackson. I'm sick of people just saying how much they regret him and all that... something should have been done to honour him, and what can be more appropriate than a human sacrifice? (I know... a pyramid... but that would have taken me aeons...)

A ha, I do like a consistent murderer who sticks to the same story. I believe you, the cat did it and the cat can't tell. They might get suspicious as to why the cat is suddenly getting all those nice cat treats though.

hi thea my motivation was my motormouth roommate just finally got to me. She said, did you hear what I said? I replied, yes, She said, We have ten minutes left until time to eat? I replied, Oh okay. Then I picked up my monitor and clobbered her over the head. I put her in a wheelchair wheeled her out the back door, gave the wheel chair a shove, goodby roomie, She was hit by a number of cars, and finally scraped up off the street and carted off. Nobody ever saw me, mission accomplished, yay I am now free to mylot in peace. All the people here figured she had gone to see her sister who had moved to places unknown. case closed. Well that was quite a dream I just had, but in reality she is very safe taking one of her many naps. She got tired of trying to talk to me all the time I guess. I would not harm a hair on her head really, she sort of grows on one after awhile. She thinks I am really nice so she says. Little does she know.

Hatley my dear this doesn't bode well, you and roomie getting along, she may have the most dreadful treats in store for you and may even ask you to show her how to mylot. If she thinks you are really nice she is probably unaware of the 24 hour ear plugs you wear to drown her out. If she ever got into here and discovered what you really had to say she would probably be running for her life. Your motive was most justified before you want all soppy on her.

Because the person was driving me crazy? I could think of a lot of reasons but, that would probably be the main reason.

Hi thea, I did not murder but the body was already there and with anticipation of unwanted situation I chopped and put in a sophisticated bag and though into the river. Th e islander would know the reason behind I guess.

Nope, I never did anything that I needed to hide. You know the cops these days. Culprit or non culprit they just need some evidences. I thought why on earth should I fall in their eagle eye and invite trouble and thus took pain to dispose the body. It is simple.

Hi Krajib, if you didn't commit the murder thus leaving without a motive, what on earth was your motive for disposing of the body in the first place instead, as an innocent bystander, just alerting the authorities. I think you are hiding something.

Well, Thea, I could excuse my murderous rampage by saying the food is no good here, but you know that would be a lie. I could say had a bad childhood , but that would be a lie as well. I could plead diminished responsibility, but nobody would believe that. I mean, doesn't everybody make kebabs out of their victims? It's perfectly reasonable and even fashionable to recycle things. No, I'll just have to tell the truth - they got murdered because they asked too many questions.
@thea09 (18305)

Hi Sandra, I heartily approve of the recycling methods you engaged in, twice. It just shows as well how much cannibalism is underestimated as those kebabs were really very tasty and it's not as though you killed the dinner just for food, you did it because the dinner asked too many questions. All sounds perfectly reasonalbe to me.

Now there's an idea Sandra, a book about serial killers. Are you willing to sign away your rights to meat grinding techniques though? As an aside did you ever read the original 'Wilt' by Tom Sharpe, with the inept Detective insisting the blow up doll was a real body and Wilt's wonderful musings on how he disposed of his wife?

Hello, Thea, I'm glad you understand that us serial killers are just as reasonable as the next person. As you're being so understanding, I'll let you live, even though you ask so many questions about my modus operandi. Are you going to put me in your next book about serial killers? Is that what this discussion is about? Just curious!
