Indonesian Youth Oath Celebration

Just two more days we will celebrate the Indonesian Youth Oath ( Sumpah Pemuda ). Youth Oath is a declaration from Indonesian Youth in 28 Oct 1928, where indonesia still under the rules of Holland Colonization. At that time, they fight for independence was only for their own area, island, tribe and religion. Because of that, they move is weak and can be deflected easily. So the decide to united, forgetting about tribe, island, etc and declare that they are only one blood spilled, one nation and respecting indonesian language.
Now the question is, what do you think about this youth oath? What you gonna do in the future to make sure this oath keep applicable in our life.

I hope the spirit of the youth had been exemplary by today's youth. youth are not just memorize the contents of the oath youth. youth not only learn the history of youth oath. We hope that today's youth can make the youth more meaningful oath and giving spirit to make Indonesia better.

Yes, i agree with you. I hope they not only understand the history, but also the meaning of the oath. Well, if they understand the meaning of the oath, the background why the oath is needed at that time, hopefully they will come to their sense and make indonesia a better place to live.
