I'm for a government run healthcare plan but there are different ways they can set it up and there are some ways I'm not for. I think that it needs to be based off of taxes coming from your income. There could be like 3 different levels of coverage available and depending on the percent of your income you want taken out depends on which level you choose. And also for the unemployed - not disable - just unemployed, you'd automatically get the lowest level because you can get a job if you try. And then of course you can add more to the rate if you decide you want your family included etc. Plus I don't think that everything should be free, I think it should kind of be like my healthcare system here at college. I pay 1-5 dollars for a prescription, I pay $30 for an xray etc. its extremely discounted costs. Therefore taxes won't have to be incredibly high in order to get coverage that you might not use. Its just a basic fee and then you pay for each thing when it comes up. Its a lot of work and its a huge idea that probably takes more space than I think this discussion probably wants to hear. Plus of course there are going to be bumps along the way but things can get straighten out and they might not be perfect but it'll be the best we can come up with.

You say "get the lowest level because you can get a job if you try" have you tried to get a job lately? I've been actively looking for over 9 months! What say you?

You say that with your health care program you pay cretin amounts for the things that you get done but you did not mention how much you pay each month for the discounted prices. And we lost our health care about a year and a half ago because of no work, it is not that easy to find work now, just ask the thousands that have lost their jobs over the last year.

I'm a college student so sometimes its a lot harder for me to find a decent job here at school because they don't want to hire kids that are gone 3-4 months our of the year but yeah I manage to find one every year. The thing is with a lot of people is they don't use the resources there for them like the unemployment offices or they have these ideas in their mind that they're only going to accept jobs that pay a certain amount or in a certain field so they won't go for the jobs like McDonalds or retail etc. Plus I really don't feel sorry for people, especially people in their 20s-30s that can't find a job that don't have a college degree. If you're ignorant enough not to realize how valuable a college degree is, its probably the reason you're not getting a job in this market.
