Maybe talk to THEIR supervisor? If you're speaking about yourself rather than hypothetically, you NEED to do SOMETHING! There must be someone who can vouch for you or someone that you can talk to to get it all sorted out. I personally have had the experience that my boss likes my other co-worker better; much better, actually, even though I ended up pulling most of the weight at the dry cleaning store we both worked at. It was unfortunate. But I just dealt with it and continued to do well despite the crappy boss situation, and eventually my boss got fired by HER boss (not for favoritising, but for something else!) So karmic retribution definitely came into play. I'm sure it will for you, too. But you should really talk to a supervisor or someone ABOVE your boss about it.
